If they are down that long they will hurt Bitcoin alot more than the current 60% decimation we've just gone through.

In June 2011 Gox estimated a few days to be down and they were down for much longer.
Don't be surprised if they are closed for more than just a few more hours (using their initial 12 hour estimation).
I estimate they will be down for 3 days.
I could be wrong, but using their track record 3-5 days sounds reasonable.
