You have just been sent a personal message by iron77 on Bitcoin Forum.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

The message they sent you was:

Hey,

I have a forum 'newbie' status, so I cannot post at the thread. I just like to confirm that I had same difficulties today with placing orders, they were stuck 'in queue' for 20-30+ minutes, even if I placed order way bigger/smaller, than market prices.

I think this is very serious issue which can lead to loss of decent sums of money and Mt. Gox should take it very  seriously. There is a topic on the forum about it somewhere but it's quite old (like 2 months) and seems like the problem is still ongoing. It's hard to think if this is any intentional, like a 'speculation prevention' or anything - but Mt. Gox website is working fine when this is happening, maybe this is some sort of error on the backed, who knows. Would be good if Gox can make any statement about what's happening.

I have sent them a support ticket today yet not recieved a response - but I'll try to ask them and I suggest same to  others who experienced this.

@Herodes, You can paste this maybe on my behalf, just to get my message out there? Wink

Regards!

I'm pretty sure that mtgox matches only once per pass through the loop.

I just want to adress this issue. When filling a larger btc bid or ask, often matching with several smaller bids or asks, it takes a long time to execute. I didn't time it today, but it seemed to take a very long time to finish execution. Should not say a 1K btc sell be executed within seconds and not 'minutes'?

I am not used to trading on stock exchanges, but I can imagine trades are done blazingly fast there.

Oh, and don't bother with responses like: "If you're not happy, then make your own exchange."

I'm just thinking that mtGox is the market leader when it comes to bitcoin exchanges now, and I don't get it why it is this slow?

Is this how it should be, or should it be improved?

I am ofcourse aware that I should have had cold facts to back up my statements, and I don't at this time, it's just what I experienced myself today.

Just wanted to put this forward and see what others have to say about it.

Edit: And to clear up any possible confusion, I am talking about matching bids or asks that are already readily available in the market, the waiting time does not include waiting time for anyone to accept my bid or ask, as I match already entered bid or asks orders that's existing in the market.
