Recently, the news came out that immediately after Mark Karpeles announced the creation of a fund and the distribution of NFTs to all victims of the hack, the movement of bitcoins from the cold wallet of the hacked exchange to an unknown address was recorded:

Mt. Gox wallet transfers 6,800 BTC as ex-CEO intends to disburse $6 billion in cryptocurrency

6,800 bitcoins, which were intended, sort of, to pay investors, moved somewhere. I think they decided to pay for the creation of this fund, management. and NFT minting. An interesting move, to spend bitcoins to print other tokens and pay off investors with them. I have long assumed that these 150,000 bitcoins are not going to be given to anyone, because payments are constantly postponed, this all lasts for years.

Now this fund will distribute NFT, then they will say that this was the long-awaited compensation.

Shout out to the newbie idiot moderator that moved this into altcoin services. I guess the first Bitcoin exchange isn’t Bitcoin related? Not even so much as a notification…

Right from one of the horse's mouth I see. OgN don't forget to share what yours will look like -- though if it contains all that your NFT will dox you heh. Should have gone for something fancier like an audio clip maybe of one of his latest proceedings and a text-to-voice of your client number read out.

Definitely tasteless, but if the intent really is to try and creatively recoup losses for his past investors, can't say I wouldn't join in.

I speak as Me, an e-gold victim who lost virtually everything.

Rather than offer worthless NFTs it's better if they start to refund all money of their clients now, I've read some articles said their clients are allowed to claim back their money. But I don't see anyone posted their funds are back until now, this means it's either they have distribute to few clients or nothing at all. However, they're to late to join the party, NFTs price aren't really high than previous year.

It appears Mark Karpeles has decided to try and give some value back to those who were stolen from by mtgox in the form of issuing NFTs.  The NFTs contain information about your account such as: Bitcoin Balance MtGox, Fiat Balance MtGox, MtGox Trade Volume, MtGox UserID, & MtGox Registration (if you opt to have this information included).
OMG!
Can someone please tell mister Mark Karpeles that stupid NFT hype is now over, and that he can't make more profit from something like this anymore?
Whats next in the ''roadmap''? Maybe Roger Ver making some new testimonial video how he now trusts Mark and his new revolutionary NFT junk  Cheesy
If people are crazy enough to believe him and buy some of this NFT's then they deserve to lose all their money...

I don't know what this is all about but Mtgox is just can't move on with their past and they wanted to drag the victims to remind those victims of the NFT trend which will gonna open back their wounds. If it was me, I wouldn't even bother to look at it because the trauma I had back then is multiple a thousand times right now when I see the amount I had and the price of BTC today.

It's a bit of an insult to be given a memento of such a traumatic event,
Yes, that's a bit insulting.
As to how valuable the memento is, the artistic value of NFT is purely subjective. Thinking the victims of the hack were early bitcoin holders who weren't too keen on new things, did they even recognize the value of NFTs themselves?

So, what do Mtgox want to do with it, start wanting to publicize their victim more personally?

Who's gonna buy those NFTs after the tragic story of MT.Gox? People won't trust magicaltux anymore.
It is a step forward but when you ruin your reputation like Karpeles i still wouldn't trust him.

Better rather than have nothing at all, i dont see for it to be that an insult yet its not bad on giving back something as long they could really be having that possibility on giving those funds back into those affected users

It's an insult because we can't simply say it's not as people were affected by a hack or vulnerability. They were affected by Mark's inability to step forward and announce that the company is going bankrupt. They were also affected by his lies and embezzling of funds. He was taking a shit in a glass bathroom and spending money on hookers while people were wondering why it takes weeks to withdraw money from his exchange.

Also, NFTs are mostly worthless scams. Instead of giving people real money, he's giving them a pat on the back and tissues to wipe their tears with.

in the past which i had read up that 6B worth of coins might be possibly be given back which is a good news and these NFT's are just some add up but i dont see for it to be that worthy but its not bad to accept it out.
It will really be just ending on someones own personal kind point of view on what are their impressions towards this.

It's a bit of an insult to be given a memento of such a traumatic event, but I can see that Mark believes it's a way to give back a little value to the OGs in the crypto space.  Personally, I am claiming mine and will see what happens.  I doubt it will make a dent in what was taken, but at least it's a step towards getting SOMETHING after all of these years.  Maybe it will turn into a DAO or some people will do some airdrops to the crypto OGs that hold these NFTs...  Remains to be seen.
