I think it's the volume since midnight (don't ask me the timezone Cheesy)

No, it's a rolling 24hr period.

Well, that would explain different number every time i check it.

I think it's just a straight 24 hours, since it seems to creep down the day after lots of activity.

MtGox local time appears to be US Eastern time, that's the local time of the transactions it displays.

Ok thank you very much. That's a fair amount, let's hope it increase with time (which it seems not to do for now).

The number of bitcoins traded will likely not increase much, but the number of dollars likely will. Smiley

You can see a chart of volume measured in old currency at bitcoincharts.com

The volume listed is the number of btc exchanged in the past 24 hours.

Is it ?

I have been observing it, and it changes in weird ways. I though it's hourly or something...

Hello everyone,

I have a question about the mtgox exchange data?

What does the volume represent (i guess it's the number of btc exchanged), and mostly in which period? 1 hour? 1 day?

I'm trying to figure out the liquidity of the market

thanks
