Its my understanding that anti virus vendors take a deeper look if you send them samples. I dont think they expect users to be able to assess whether or not its actually a false positive. Many things bitcoin are labeled as virus while they are not, just because some viruses looks for wallet files (same as the wallet software) or can mine bitcoin (this does not apply to multibit obviously).

You do make valid point. I think i will report the false positive to kasperskylabs. Thankyou for the help.

also do u know any other wallets similar to multibit?

Electrum would be the other popular wallet without the need to download the blockchain and with a seed.

Did you report the false positive to kaspersky?

I have not but won't that just mean that i know it is clean and i want to eliminate it from scanning later.

I would rather know the reason behind it showing me the vulnerability in the first place.

Anyways i think i will email or contact multi bit somehow and keep this topic open maybe someone else experienced such an issue

Hello

Okay i have been using multi bit when it wasn't even 'Multi-Bit HD'.

Recently they rebranded it and now when i try to use the latest release my kaspersky just deletes everything.
So i always cancle the update and use the old 0.3.0 which runs perfectly.
i dont want to disable my antivirus for obvious reasons.

Anyone else facing this problem and already has a solution which they would like to kindly share. I would be greatful thankyou

P.S. i use multi bit because we dont have download loads of data, so is there any other wallet with such feature.
