I think that you should contact their support and tell them your problem and give them password and email or username depends how you login and tell them to transfer your btc to other wallet and start to use some new wallet where you will not find any bugs.

It did not work. I installed Bread Wallet on my iPhone but it requires a 12 words seed to recover an existing wallet. I created my Multibit HD wallet with a 24 words seed, so I can not recover the wallet  Embarrassed I tried it the other more complicated way and it worked. Thanks again for your help!

Thanks a lot for pointing me to the other threads. I am relieved that is not a serious problem that concerns only me, instead it is a known bug that could be solved. I am currently at work but I will try your advice using Breadwallet to restore and Electrum as MultiBit alternative when I come home later this day.

Your password problem is a well known bug. If you search through the old threads here you will find many of them are about the password bug. The simplest solution to it is to install bread wallet onto your phone and create a wallet in it using your multibit seed words. Even multibit support suggests that solution.

There are other solutions, but that's the easiest. The multibit devs have known about the bug for a long time and don't appear to be about to fix it any time soon. I would switch to using the electrum wallet after getting control of my coins back through bread wallet.

The title sounds a little easy. But read first before judge. I have faced a very strange problem since yesterday.

I use Multibit 0.4.1 and 0.5.1 for more than a year almost daily and never had problems. Yesterday, I logged in and the password suddenly stopped working. I have stored the password in several places and all were identical to the input (you can make it visible in the client).

Okay, so I used the "I have forgotten my password" option to get my password by providing the wallet seed words and the shown password was exactly the password I typed in before. I tried this password once more and again it says "the password did not unlock the wallet".

Then I tried the third option "I want to restore a wallet" by providing the wallet words (successful verified), the datestamp (successful verified) and a new password (I set a very easy one like Test123). The restored wallet report says
Backup location created => okay
Wallet created => okay
Security certificates => okay
Wallet is synchronzing => okay after I waited 30-40 minutes

Then I tried to log in with my new password and again it was not able to unlock the wallet. So I tried again to restore my password and it was exactly the password displayed I provided in the restore process before "Test123".

I did all this several times. I removed Multibit HD completely from my hard drive, installed it newly and I even deleted the Application Support files (on Mac). But always the same. I also installed older version 0.4.1. However the same issue appeared on this version.

Finally I reactivated my old Windows 7 machine. I installed Multibit HD 0.5.1 (it has never installed before on the machine) and same issue occured.

I do not know what else I can do. I spent six hours today trying to fix it. Anyone who can help me, please?
