For those having the same Problem, I just found a solution.
The problem seems to be related to having open too many wallets.
I had 7 wallets open and the sync was way tow slow. 3-4days for a complete resync.
Now I have closed all wallets but one and restarted the client. Now it has alread synced 1/3 in only 10 minutes!

Hope this helps someone, and please excuse my message to this old thread.

That's good advice.
It's one of the reasons why we moved away from the 'all wallets open' in Classic and introduced 'switch wallet' in HD.

Peers vary quite a lot in their speed.
Every time you restart MultiBit it selects peers at random so you could just be talking to a slow peer.

If you hover your mouse over the 'Online' icon it tells you the height/ date of the most recent block it knows about.
If you take your mouse away, wait a while and then do it again, has the block height increased ?

If so then it it syncing (perhaps slowly for some reason - peers vary).

If it isn't syncing at all then check your port 8333 is open and isn't being redirected anywhere (say to a Bitcoin Core on your network, something like that)

Thanks for your answer.
I'm using Multibit since.. 2013, I think.
I did reset the blockchain and after 3 hours it started to download blocks again, but extremely slowly (6-day package every 30 minutes or so, which isn't the speed I got used to).

I'll have to resync the blockain for 2-3 days, but it is good, as I will be able to send the funds to HD version.

Is there any way to get blocks faster?

Or is there any other way to download and synchronise blocks?
Like in core client in which you could download blocks separately

Does Multibit Classic synchronise with networki still?

I wanted to move to HD version and saw in Help section that the only way to synchronise between these clients is to spend funds to new address generated in HD client.
But the problem is that the classic version keps on "Synchronising with network..." with no other messages prompting.

Am I seriously fucked up?
