Anyone have any idea when Multibit HD will be released?

I am not sure how good Multibit HD will be as I have heard rumors that they may attach a fee to each TX that would go to them. You would have to pay a miners fee (if applicable) and a wallet fee. I don't like that idea personally.

For the Amsterdam conference we've written a short slide deck 'MultiBit HD. In 5 minutes'.

Here it is:

It's 'View | Present' to see it full screen.

Gary and I are pretty much use case complete for the initial offering.

We have been waiting to get the wallet format to HD format and fully encrypted before open sourcing it. We finished this a week or two ago.

We expect to open source the code after the Amsterdam conference and move it into beta testing after that.
It will have to be thoroughly tested etc before it goes on general release. We will probably limit the beta to about a thousand users.

This sounds a lot but is only 8 hours downloads of MultiBit Classic.

I expect it to be in beta for quite a while - there is a lot of new code that has gone into both bitcoinj and MultiBit that needs to settle down before regular users can use it.
