So was it correctly connecting/ synchronising and then one day just stopped ?

If so, then it could be something unusual on your network with the port (8333) that MultiBit HD uses to connect to the Bitcoin network.
The fact that you can use another machine on the same network is odd.

One thing you could try is to install Lighthouse, which is also bitcoinj based and connects to the Bitcoin network on the same port.

If that does not work then it suggests that Bitcoin network traffic (on port 8333) is not successfully getting to and from your machine.

If you cannot get traffic on that port then yes I think you will have to restore your wallet elsewhere and move the bitcoin.
For an alternative Mac client I obviously mainly use MultiBit HD but also use Electrum and Copay and both are good wallets.

You should move this to the multibit section:

Hi everybody,

I've been having a problem for a few days, which seems to have appeared out of the blue. Whenever I open my Multibit HD Wallet, instead of connecting to the bitcoin network, the dot in the bottom right remains red, and the text next to it continues to read "connecting." This goes on indefinitely (I left it open over night to see if anything would happen; nothing happened). "Verify Network" shows a peer count of 0.

Turning the firewall off didn't help, and I was able to restore my wallet on another computer on the same network, but even after uninstalling Multibit HD, removing associated files from Application Support, and reinstalling the whole thing, Multibit HD still won't connect to the network after I restore my wallet on my mac.

The whole thing's pretty baffling, and if I can't work it out soon, I may just have to restore my wallet on another computer, install a different wallet on my mac, and send my coins over to the wallet.

So, any tips on how this might be resolved? I've search all day online and I've come up with nothing.

And if not, can someone recommend a more reliable wallet?

Thanks in advance.
