You can either export your private keys unencrypted, in which case you (or anyone else) can read them, or encrypted.

Hmm, I stumbled on this while searching for ways to view the private key.

Here's my question: If a person can view the private key with Notepad, then what is the point of password-protecting the private key?

Ok ok.. i found it.. just needed to export the private key.. then i can open it with text and it shows me the private key.

Hi Guys,
I want to know how can i View my private key on Multibit ?
i know that i can export and import it but how do i view it?

i want to save it on paper also so incase i lost my wallet

So export and save it on paper ?

How can i export and save it on paper ? it exports it name.wallet ? and i cant see the private key..
i'm using Mac and trying to open the file with Text.. still unable to see the private key..

any other suggestions ?

Open your unencrypted wallet with notepad or something and print it. Encrypt your wallet afterwards.
