multibit does NOT receive my btc from my blockchain.info

it takes already 3 days!!
what is the matter here?? I lost my bitcoins?

Yes that makes sense, it would probably reduce quite a few of these problems.

I already sent to support@ the log of my failed transaction, hopefully it will be useful (but I suppose you probably don't need it!)

I'm spending a few days seeing where I can improve the transaction sending/ receiving.

I think I'm going to put in a ping of the peers just before I do a send to check that they are still ok.
(They can drop your connection at any time - say if they are busy).

It's a matter of trying to close down possible error paths to improve reliability.

In this case looking at MultiBit logs I've seen that connection dropped just after I sent the payment so probably remained stuck, and checking on blockchain.info it looked like it was not there (just 1 Peer got it when I sent it), but the BTC were available to spend.

It looked clearly like something was wrong with MultiBit getting the correct numbers from the blockchain, and indeed resetting two or three times in a row everything went back to normal, no connection drops and I did other transfers and all is ok.

Resetting the blockchain puts your wallet to match what is on the blockchain.

If you are waiting for a transaction to confirm (i.e. perhaps someone sent it with a very small fee) then you don't need to keep  resetting the blockchain over and over. You might as well go out for a walk or treat your girlfriend to a meal out. The transaction will confirm when it gets mined - which is absolutely nothing to do with MultiBit - and then you'll see it when it next syncs.


There are various subtleties with transactions that it is good to keep in mind.

For instance, if someone sends you a transaction which depends on other, unconfirmed, transactions it isn't shown (currently) on MultiBit until it confirms. This is to prevent someone creating a transaction that will never confirm and then sending it to you (perhaps in a localbitcoins meet up where they take your fiat after sending you an unconfirmed transaction and then run off).

If there is a wait between blocks then your transaction will take a while to appear. This isn't MultiBit being 'bugged' but functionality that is in there to protect the user from being cheated.


@rofus. Good to hear that you are a developer. MultiBit is open source so please feel free to add more unit tests or help with the regression testing that I do on every release. You can see the screenshots of the regression testing I do at the https://multibit.org/releases.html page.

For reference to other users with same problem, MultiBit developers are now trying to solve the problem.

In the meantime the solution is to reset the blockchain on MultiBit not only once, but several times until you get all to normality (in terms of balance and transactions).

I followed the guide on Multibit, to export my private keys (without password) and import the wallet into blockchain.info....but when I do it I receive error "Unable to decrypt check your password" on blockchain.info...   

I checked on blockchain.info and my balance available to spend there is correct...Multibit just seems stuck not seeing it...and I cannot export the wallet to blockchain.info

And obviously no reply....honestly, if any newcomer is reading this, this whole Altcoins is severly flawed and completely misses ANY serious developing quality, neither in coins nor on trading websites or online wallets etc., it really seems everyone just wanted to jump on the wagon as quick as possible to accumulate some Bitcoins and no one cares about checking quality (as a developer I'm really surprised by the lack of quality of almost every software and website about Bitcoins or Altcoins)...and lack of support.

Anyone has any suggestion about how to solve this problem? My BTC are 'there' somewhere, my local wallet cannot see them, and the online wallet produces that odd error when I try to import it..and there are countless other users with the same problem..NO SOLUTION. How is even possible for such websites to still be online and even ask for donations? 

Anyone pls can help with this and explain me if the coins are lost? And how is this possible?

I can post here the screenshot showing transaction details...if it was seen by 1 peer, what happens?

I have a screenshot where it says Seen by 1 Peer, and all details including the transaction and the amounts...what can I do?

If a Bitcoin software can LOOSE money it's not just a 'bug' and Multibit is recommended as official light alternative...I'm lost where are my BTC??? 

This is happening every day to lots of people. Multibit is bugged. Developers should test software properly before releasing it.

I just tried (resetting one day before my first transaction)..and now I don't see anymore that last transaction (I only have a screenshot with all details!)...disappeared...and the BTC as well, 0 BTC.

What's happening.... I thought BTC system was safe from such stuff...how can the BTC disappear this way? 

Try to reinitialize the block chain to a early date , well before your last transactions (check the tools menu).
That can help 'unstuck' transactions.

Hi all,

I use Multibit on Mac, and I used it already once to receive some BTC and send some to my wallet on Cryptsy, and all was ok...seen by 4 peers in a matter of seconds.

Now I just did another move from my local wallet again to my wallet on Cryptsy...but after 30 minutes it still says See by 1 Peers, status of the transaction is Pending/unconfirmed, and I cannot see the transaction at blockexplorer.com or blockchain.info

By the way the BTC disappeared obviously from my local wallet (where I'm left with 0.00033451 balance, spendable 0.00).

What's happening??   Can someone help me understand? Have I lost my BTC ??
