Hello everyone..

I've found my old multibit key 2 weeks ago and imported it in multibit Classic. That all worked fine and well. Now I did not read enough so I made a Multibit HD wallet and tried to transfer it to there, did not know I just had to import my private key to an electrum wallet.. I made this transaction last week and just waited to get it confirmed. Since then I read a lot about Multibit and that it isn't supported anymore and so my transaction still is not confirmed. I don't really know what to do.

I made two transactions the first one to try if it worked, seemed to look good when it showed up in multibit HD but wasn't confirmed, then i made the other transaction with all my coins.

This are the transaction numbers

e1ddc1cd1842590e682b518b2de2feeeb1e6c256c0633a841df149147f55475b

f8983b0d6b07301931cd21344811c87b17e9969fb151ed97e7c986026555f655

I first tried to restore my wallet in multibit HD what didn't make any difference, and later on i restored my multibit classic wallet what didn't make any difference as well. In multibit Classic it says no balance and in multibit HD it says my balance but unconfirmed. Now i just exported my multibit classic key file and don't open multibit classic anymore.

Can someone help me with what's the best to do now? Just wait till the transaction is gonna be confirmed? Or can i import or restore a multibit HD wallet in electrum while it isn't confirmed yet?

I think I have done some stupid things..

Since you have MultiBit Classic you could only import you private keys in Electrum, but you pick MultiBit HD and now you have seed which you can use to restore your wallet in Electrum.I suggest that you do this, there will not be problem even if you have unconfirmed transaction.Depending on which operating system you are using download appropriate version of Electrum https://electrum.org/#home (use 2.9.3 for Windows 7&8)and follow this simple steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-KcY6KUVnY

Keep seed from Multibit HD because this will be your seed if you ever want to restore wallet.Regarding transaction, you pay very low fee and in normal way it will need long time for confirmations, but I will try to speed it up with some free tools and maybe you get lucky and get them confirmed even today.

Thank you very much for helping me out! I can see my wallet now in electrum, and one of the two transactions is confirmed! Guess I need to wait for the other one to confirm before I can see it in my electrum wallet?

You're welcome Smiley

I managed to accelerate first transaction,I hope to succeed with the other also.It is normal that you not see other unconfirmed transaction in Electrum-I have same situation and after confirmations the transaction appeared.

You can always check what is the recommended fee here : https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ Also Electrum will always show you recommended fee when you type amount for send, and you can click preview before sending to see size of your transaction so you can then adjust fee manually.

Just to let everyone know that in my case, the transaction did go through after 4-5 days or so. Not ideal but it worked. I subsequently emptied the old Multibit wallet with a last transaction, where I set Multibit to the maximum possible network fee. It went through in about 24 hours.

I have the exact same problem and I would really appreciate any help/advice that anyone can give. I've been out of the bitcoin loop the last year and once I found out this week that Multibit HD was no longer supported I tried to transfer my coins over to another wallet.

This was 2 days ago and my Multibit HD wallet is saying that the coins are sending yet there is no transaction found on blockchain.info or any of the other databases.

I understand the blockchain is experiencing large backlogs but I'm concerned as the transaction is not even showing up on blockchain.info. It is as if the transaction was never sent yet the wallet says the coins are gone.

Should I follow the advice of HCP above and ignore the current transaction and import my keys into Electrum?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

The best advice is to follow advice of HCP,and you should not even try to send BTC from MultiBit HD.So best thing is to import your seed in Electrum and then you will see what exactly happened with your transaction.Be sure to download Electrum from legit site : https://electrum.org/#home and to follow the procedure. What is most important, that while you have your seed&private keys your BTC is safe.

Did you figure this one out yet? Did you transfer to Electrum with the private keys? Did the unconfirmed transactions cause you any trouble with that?

Thanks for the answer!
Should I wait more to see if the transaction will appear on the blockchain or proceed with reseting the transactions on my wallet?
I saw people on google who reset their multibit and the transaction is somehow gone.
Any idea?
Thanks!
Guys, I will be happy to tip you good if we find a solution!
Thanks again!

Maybe you can check your address first in block explorer, if in block explorer no transaction happened, I think it's better just do export privkey, then import to your blockchain wallet. Because maybe your multibit wallet is problematic.

Pretty much ignore what MultiBit is doing... both MultiBit Classic and MultiBit HD are very old, outdated and no longer supported. Chances are that your transaction has not propagated through the network due to lack of peers and the low "fixed" fees that MBC and MBHD use.

I would suggest the following:

If using MultiBit Classic, simply export your private key(s) from MBC and import them into Electrum (https://electrum.org/#download)

You can find the "MBC to Electrum" tutorial video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaijbTcxsv8

If you were using MultiBit HD, simply restore your MBHD wallet seed into Electrum (https://electrum.org/#download)

You can find the "MBHD to Electrum" tutorial video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-KcY6KUVnY

(NOTE: if you have an older version of Windows ie. Win7/8, you will need to use Electrum 2.9.3, available from here: https://download.electrum.org/2.9.3/ )

Once you have your wallet successfully imported into Electrum you should be able to see all your transaction history, addresses and coins and you should be able to send your bitcoins to b.info as required.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer!
And do you think that reseting the transactions will also help?
It is still stuck like this

I think so, after resetting the transactions, wait until sync process done. or maybe you could try this suggestion.

My suggestion would be to download Electrum bitcoin wallet and then import the private key to it.

Export your privkey from multibit, store it to your blockchain wallet. So, you no need to send your bitcoin from multibit to blockchain wallet. Good Luck!

Hello guys,
I just found that I have some amount of BTC in my old Multibit wallet on my old laptop. I decided to send those to my blockchain wallet and the transaction did not pass. I put $4.5 as transaction fee and the wallet is just showing that it is seend by one peer and a square next to the transaction, when I check the transaction details on blockexplorer and blockchain it is saying transaction not found.
Any idea how I can fix that? I hope my btc is not lost as the wallet is very old (2013). When should I try reseting the transaction in the wallet? Should I wait until tomorrow and leave it for now or I can safely reset the wallet? Any suggestions I am willing to tip you guys!
Thanks!

Hello! I can help you out. Multibit is currently discontinued project and will probably stay like that.
My suggestion would be to download Electrum bitcoin wallet and then import the private key to it.
Im not sure how this process happens however from the multibit side, because i use linux and i cannot find any installers currently for it.
Let me know if you need more help, and i'd be more than happy to help you out Smiley
