I'm going to move the launch back a few days from a tentative 2 or 3 days from now to a tentative 7-10 days from now. The reasons are several. But the main reason is that the original timeline was just too ambitious.

The tech I had planned for the original launch is implemented and now fully tested with reasonable retargeting behavior, which was the last major technical issue I worked out. See https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13556559

Anyone can try out the platform at the above link, so this slight delay is not a technical matter. It's simply a matter of needing more time do the work to get ready for release. With that said, we'll probably have a pool ready upon launch. I'm about 90% sure the algorithm is going to be Blake256.

Sorry for the delay. I'll make updates here as I get close.

Blake is getting a lot more attention these days too bad i don't have a good mining option for it though  Cry Cry Cry

To be fair to the dev, he has already pulled through.  Many of us have been mining and staking on the testnet for a couple weeks now.   Shocked

Yes, testnet is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-multicurrencies-test-net-live-unmoderated-1254683

The sources for the Breakout Coin testnet are closed. MC1 will be open source when launched.
Great. Looking forward to launch.
Can we get a countdown ?

I'll make a countdown page or put up a timer when I get a better sense of the time.

I want to see how "Breakout Gravity Wave" works. Retargeting has been a little issue with PoW and is my last real technical problem. My latest try is to modify DGW for PoS/PoW hybrids with different block time targets (and gave it a new name). The testnet fork for this will happen in about 1 day or less.

Clarifications

Some members of the Breakout Coin community have asked me to make it clear that MC1 is a different coin from Breakout Coin. Breakout Coin is a coin funded by coin sales, one has already happened and one is scheduled. Breakout Coin is tied to Breakout Gaming business operations.

MC1 (the coin announced in this thread) will have the full Multicurrency 1 platform, just like Breakout Coin. However MC1 will be fair launch and supported only tangentially by Breakout Gaming. Minimal coin infrastructure will be provided for MC1, including a basic block explorer and website. I will also ensure that MC1 runs smoothly, as it will serve somewhat as a "testnet for keeps" for Breakout Coin.

I hope this clears up any potential confusion.

This sounds interesting but i feel like i've read multiple ANN's like this.
Hope you pull through

They are probably all me. There was a succession of them: (1) The whitepaper (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/multicurrencies-1170055), (2) Launch of Breakout Coin testnet (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-multicurrencies-test-net-live-unmoderated-1254683), and (3) the present thread.

I'll try not to make too many more.

LOL oh yeah, no more ANN's pull through this time, we're cheering for you.

This is the type of thing that really gets me interested!

Though I don't know how to compile and build new mining software for new algos, if you use any existing algo, I will help you test mine with whatever you need.

It is with great pleasure that I post this tentative pre-ANN for Multicurrencies 1 [MC1]/[MX1].

FAQ

What is this coin? See here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/multicurrencies-1170055 and here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-multicurrencies-test-net-live-unmoderated-1254683 . At least two currencies will be supported, both emitted during mining. One currency will be a non-staking currency and the other will be a staking currency. I haven't decided exactly how the emission works yet. I'll try to make it interesting.

What's going to happen? There will be a launch of MC1 with about 3 days of low reward mining. There will be no premine or ICO. Note that MC1 is a different coin from Breakout Coin, which is funded by ICO and tied to Breakout Gaming business operations.

Why? This is a public release of the first version of the multicurrency platform. Launch means that the sources will be opened.

When? In about 4 days. This ANN will be reformatted more professionally and possibly moved to a thread owned by user BreakoutCoin, depending on management decisions from Breakout Gaming.

Who is sponsoring this? Breakout Gaming has agreed to sponsor this launch and associated infrastructure. The MC1 platform will be maintained by me but will follow Breakout Coin in major feature enhancements. That is, all new features will go first into Breakout Coin, which is tied to Breakout Gaming business operations. Because the same version of the multicurrency platform will be used for both coins, MC1 will get the benefit of Breakout Coin development.

Users can expect timely attention to any problems with MC1, but the community will be responsible for building services around it. Although basic services like a block explorer, etc., will be supported by Breakout Gaming. It is a pure fair launch coin, so community participation will be necessary.

How do we mine? The mining algorithm has not been finalized. The block structure is highly modified, so I will have to modify existing pool software to have a pool. The 3 day low reward period will allow me to get a pool up and test it.

Is the launch going to be smooth? I don't expect it to be. That's why we are going to have 3 days of low rewards. I guarantee this: I will ensure that any problems are addressed quickly and we have a smooth chain as quickly as possible after launch.
