Hello sir/madam,

I'm a newbie in blockchain technology.

I'm in the process of learning the necessary tools in building our project.

We plan on building a decentralized DNS similar to blockstack and a decentralized storage similar to Storj.

These two platform should work together to achieve our goal.

QUESTION:

How many blockchain do we need for that two platforms? We are planning to use Bitcoin blockchain for this project.

You only need one Blockchain to get it done...Just write a document for the functonalities of your blockchain and get a god developer to look into it, they will be able to create a solution for the two..

I've seen altcoins that can host simple websites on a distributed blockchain, so would assume it's possible to cram both DNS details and file storage into one single blockchain.  However, you'll almost certainly need your own blockchain, as the cost of storing files on Bitcoin's blockchain would be beyond prohibitive in terms of fees.  Along with Storj, you should check out Namecoin, Qora and Maidsafe for inspiration and insight, as they all contain aspects of what you're trying to achieve.
