I would agree signature campaigns really contributes why multiple topics were created since people needs to comply with the required post count, but we can't help it since this is why this forum was created. I think the only solution is to required a few post count but should be highly informative and those that moderators consider to be less informative can be deleted.

This is one of the first things I noticed about this forum when I started lurking here in 2014 or so--and it's only gotten worse since then, the duplicate, low-value topics that are always written in Bizarro world, "All Your Base" English.

All of this is due to signature campaigns, which pay people to keep creating and posting in the shit topics, and nothing is going to improve unless some major reform is implemented.  The merit system is helping, but shitposters haven't quite gotten the message that there will be no advancement unless you improve your posts.  That goes for everyone.

The only way to truly wipe out the shitposters would be to eliminate signature campaigns altogether, but Theymos isn't willing to do that.  There are just too many garbage posts and too many new accounts for mods to have a chance of making a dent.

Maybe some of you are fully aware in what happening within this forum. Creating informative topic is ok but creating topic the same with the previous post is not. This scenario can limit the knowledge of a reader especially for those newbie. It is irritating me,  you are like eating the same food everyday.

I also find out that if your common topic answered by several people, it will be counted as a new topic. Do you think it is "new" ?maybe before you will do  a new topic,  try to search first then if it new or unique enough then go.

For those people whose always guide newbie to find their question to the previous topic and to make end the redundant post, I salute you
Honestly, I saw a lot of same topics in different sections here in the forum, people should search for a few minutes before posting anything, but I don't think this problem will solve without any intervention. Moderators should interfere here, and delete multiple common topics and just leave the original one, I think this is the best idea to clean up the forum from duplicate content.

This is one reason why some don't understand the idea of back reading, because instead of finding the previous topic to answer their concerns, they rather create a thread and ask their questions. I think this issues should be address and there must be a way that new topic created can be filter so that forum will be clean from redundant topic and spammers.

The main reason of that is many member in this forum are too lazy finding answer to their question, or they are lazy reading topics in multiple section in this forum, the simplest way is to create new thread but they didnt know that by creating redundant thread they help many member to be spammer and make increases the work of moderators to monitor and delete those thread.
Your idea is certainly correct. That is also my though,  let's start give awareness to all people to avoid this scenario.  Thank you for your idea sir 😊

They won't get tired of replying or posting same topics and contents on some threads, why? because this is also an advantage for them to gain posts and activities. Those type of posts which is common topics are the stepping stone also for aiming high rank or for the task on bounty campaigns like signature camp.

They are just making version 2 of some topics. I wish they improve themselves on creating some unique topics in our forum. They should learn also how cryptocurrency works for them to share something different from other topics. It's really pissing me off when i always open the section of discussion and reading same contents everyday.

So maybe we should warn some fellow members who do this kind of activity in our forum. In my logical understanding, it can be a spam since they're copying some info and just adding supporting details to make them unique. Do you think it's unique to do this way? It's very redundant. Why do they make similar topics than replying to the original content creator and putting some informative add-ons the thread.
well said sir!  Discipline is also a tool to enhance ourselves.😊😊

If I would feel certain that this forum had at its disposal unlimited free design, coding and testing resources, I would suggest adding a feature that, when a new user creates a new topic, would do a quick relevant search, show the poster the results and ask ‘look, these topics already exist, are you sure a new one is needed?’.

This happens especially often in the Mining sections of the forums, whether BTC or Alt. I just wish there was a way for more people to see stickied posts on the top of certain subforums (maybe make it mandatory for first-time users?). The search function isn't the greatest on the forums, sure, but Googling your question usually leads back to Bitcointalk and going through a few pages in the subreddit your question belongs to usually works too.

I agree with the OP, and I suggested that the threads be merged. The easiest way to deal with members who constantly post repeated comments is to add them to ignore. I can understand the point about it being a community, but if you are at a party, and somebody keeps repeating comments without adding to the discussion, you either smack him, or move to another group. Smiley
Yes sir,  that is a very good point 😊
You can also try to report it to moderator if a thread contains the same content to other previous threads. Just use the report to moderator button and they will delete it if they considered and judged it as spam.  It is unavoidable on beginners and help section though so if threads aren't being merged or deleted, then just follow Jet Cash's recommendation.

That is how a community works. It might look irritating but its healthy in some way. Remember this is not a library. We communicate with each other here. And even books are being republished BTW. Maybe as long as it's on-topic and not likely very new when it's reposted is ok for me. But we have different views so I can't argue with that.
