I personally wouldn't recommend using any type of wallet on an iPhone or Samsung device etc. Even with the legit apps I think the security is ropey & you're a potential target simply by just using them.
It depends how you use them though, I think there's no problem in keeping small amounts of coins in there.
You also don't keep thousands of dollars in cash in your actual wallet, it's similar to that.

They would be far more useful once more brick and mortar stores start accepting Bitcoin though...

About these fake wallet apps making it through the Apple review process, is this just a blatant case of copyright infringement?
Would Apple actually let malicious apps go through? I wouldn't think so, but I could be wrong... Android on the other hand has a worse track record for that...

breadwallet_dan try to report them (or continue if you are reporting them) to the AppStore/itunes team because as I know they are pretty strict and if you have good evidence/proof they remove these apps and block/close their developer accounts.
Maybe needs some report for the app store can make him believe if fake bread wallet app is a scammer and need to close or block. I will help for repost too. wish does not appear new victims from him.

A fake breadwallet app using the same title and icon as the real breadwallet made it through Apple’s review process and was added to the App Store on July 29th. We took immediate action and had it removed, although a few users who inadvertently downloaded the fake app have reported having funds stolen from it. We’ve noticed more suspicious apps being added to the App Store, using breadwallet’s source code and sometimes infringing on other app’s copyrights.

Here are the new wallets we’ve noticed so far with their exact naming. Please be cautious:
