On Windows 10, there is only 1 process shown running in Task Manager.

Given Windows 7 going out of support I'll probably switch to 10

This is an old issue since before until now it shows two electrum processing on task manager.
We are the same(I'm using Windows 7) but I don't experience any issue until now it's working fine and never been hacked.

If you feel not safe you can upgrade to Windows 10 which is recommended or Ubuntu because Microsoft decided to end support for Windows 7 last January 14, 2020.

I can't find the issue about this but I heard before it was related to python.

On Windows 10, there is only 1 process shown running in Task Manager.
At my end, it's showing 1 in the active process (Apps) and 1 in the Background processes (lower portion of task manager).
The memory consumption is just about right, the background process has lower memory consumption than the active one.

I'm also using Windows 10.

W7 doesn't have this kind of grouping, IIRC.

This isn't a concerning issue. It's due to Electrum's use of PyInstaller, which runs its bootloader in a separate process. It's been discussed by Electrum develop SomberNight in this closed GitHub issue a few months ago: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/5747

As mentioned above, as long as you downloaded from the official site and verified before installing, then you can safely ignore this.

What happens when you close your Electrum wallet? Are there any Electrum processes in the task manager then? Maybe you just opened it a few times and it didn't close properly or it could be a temporary bug.

Have you tried restarting your computer and opening Electrum after a fresh restart? Is there just one process after a fresh restart?
No, it always seems to be 2 processes, even immediately after a restart.

The offline Electrum, running on Windows 10, only seems to have 1 process showing in Task Manager.

I'll try installing a watching Electrum wallet under Windows 10, and report back

This is old issue on Windows, users have been reporting the same thing for several years, even before 3.0 version. I don't think there's any reason to worry about the multiple processes, more attention should be paid to the fact that Windows 7 is no longer officially supported by Microsoft, and that using desktop wallet on such OS poses a security risk.

2 identical processes electrum-2.9.3.exe are simultaniously running on my Windows 7, normal?
As the title states there are 2 identical processes electrum-2.9.3.exe simultaniously shown in my taskmanager when I start my electrum on my Windows 7 pc. Is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Is this normal?

I have only one process when I open Electrum. This issue has been also mentioned in this thread. I don't think you should worry about it as long as you have the genuine version of Electrum.

I'm running Windows 7 x64, and I have a question about Electrum processes.

When I start my Electrum watching wallet, the Windows Task Manager shows 2 images:

1. Electrum-3.3.8.exe *32 size 1152K
2. Electrum-3.3.8.exe *32 size 58772K

Is this normal?
