Your post reminded me of a project I promoted before, it's called Beatzoin. Upon checking on them again, I found out that they've already launched their music &video platform which is Vibravid.

Quote
VibraVid is a decentralized Music and Video platform that rewards both users and creators in an ecosystem that uses BeatzCoin as its native currency. Creators can Upload, store, market and sell their content to users with the added the benefits of being able to crowdfund and sell merchandise and event tickets directly to their subscribers and fans.

A quick look at their FAQ and you'll see these basic informations
Quote
If you are content creator the moment a user clicks on pay to view content a transaction is executed directly to your wallet.
Quote
There are a variety of ways to earn on the VibraVid platform. They include the following:
  • Sales of Downloads or Streams
  • Tips from users
  • Crowd Funding
  • Incentives provided directly provided from VibraVid
  • As users you can participate in bounty campaigns created by content creators to get views/listens. You will be rewarded in BeatzCoin for those.

They've got some users already and few artists on board.

Worldwide Payments Accepted in Seconds!
Music streaming is a big inudstry and many have been introducing lots of platform that can be incoporated in blockchain but failed.

However, this will be hard to achieve since piracy is still an imminent threat within cyber space. Crypto users would simply use BitTorrent to download their favorite music illegally. Even worse, most music we know and love today are being broadcasted for free over YouTube.

I agree this is the most problem in the music industry. Using BitTorrent cant be stop so this decentralized approach will be still ignored. If you were a pirate users who keep downloading on torrent for free why will you use your crypto that haave value just to download legal music. I know this is the best way but people will never aim for that and we know it. Crypto must be undergone process in order to achieve legalization but they must accept the method of using it decentrally which some authorities wouldnt allow us that's why the problem still on. Anyway maybe in the future.

But, I think we're still far from that time to see that a decentralized blockchain or an app that accepts crypto will go par with the most known music streaming now.

It's going to be the battle of innovation in terms of music streaming but let's take it slowly and whomever is/are developing this kind of service right now, there must be something new that the existing one doesn't have the feature that they'll add.

And one of it is the option to pay crypto but they can also do that if they want to.

Agree. Crypto and Blockchain tech are still in their infancy. It's been proven that Blockchain is not suitable for everything, especially storing data for the long term like a database. If music gets uploaded to the Blockchain, I believe that there will be a risk of centralization as node maintenance costs will rise like never before. It's best to provide music streaming services with centralized infrastructure (SQL, HTTP, etc) while accepting payments in crypto. So far, the number of services accepting crypto as payment are little to none. But with due time, we'll be able to see a burst in music streaming services which accept crypto worldwide. If the need arises, mainstream digital businesses will be able to join the Blockchain space too.

However, this will be hard to achieve since piracy is still an imminent threat within cyber space. Crypto users would simply use BitTorrent to download their favorite music illegally. Even worse, most music we know and love today are being broadcasted for free over YouTube. If the trend continues, I'm afraid that establishing a music streaming service which accepts crypto as payment will be quite an unprofitable one.

In the time being, it's best to stick with traditional music streaming services which accept Fiat than anything else. Cryptocurrencies are still not mature enough for mainstream use. Not to mention, governments have found it difficult to regulate the industry in its entirety. Currently available Blockchain music platforms (like Musicoin) have a long way to go if they want to stay relevant within the mainstream world. If there's demand for something like this, then crypto-oriented music streaming services will survive for a very long time. Otherwise, they'll be just an idea that will be long forgotten in cyberspace. Just my opinion Smiley

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
there are many crypto/music projects before and yes one of them was viberate  . i recognize it but i forgot the name of the others.
It was music related project but not a music streaming service. It is for locating and buying tickets to local concerts and programs.

its hard to compete with the music industries knowing that there are now giants like spotify and youtube too  .
both big platforms are popular and free   , so people will usually end up on here than searching for other unpopular alternatives  .  though these platforms offers premium subsricption too and would be better if they suport crypto payments  .
I am not really bullish about any music related cryptocurrency project. End of the day every music content is pirated like anything next to movies. Again like I said in my previous post, the bitcoin users are majorly associated with the bittorrent and p2p concepts. So they are not going to pay very likely unless someone is passionate to support the musicians.

As far as I know there have not been any crypto-payment streaming services yet which have made a good name for themselves. There is a project called Viberate whose ICO signature campaign I was a participant in and I am following them on telegram. But that is more for app development for a app to locate concerts and gigs.

You have to understand that with crypto users using piracy is the more important method. The users here are rarely going to pay for movies or music. They are likely to pirate it. So forget about paying which very few will, like Spotify in UK is popular with users here from UK.

But I expect bitcoin users are more of the p2p file sharing OGs out there.

Which Are the Top 5 Best Blockchain-based Music Streaming Platforms?

And take note that most of the projects that are on the list, I'm not very familiar with any of them.

I did recognized voise before during the 2017 bull run. But it seems that they also become a dead project now. Other than that the other's are not familiar with.

@Abiky, I think if these new blockchain related projects wanted to enter the music streaming industry with the use od blockchain they should be wary that lots of legal aspect stick with it.

For example, the famous music streaming spotify has payment in order to subscribed with them. So it would not that be easy. IMO, why create such new platform? They can tie up with big streaming platform such as Ive mentioned since they got name already just needed to implement the payment option for crypto.

Just like what Pornhub did on their platform accepting tether (USDT). More easier than starting from scratch.

I remember this imusify project keep lurking on forum and social media but never heard from them again. It seems they do a wide marketing hope also this could be success. I also want music streaming to be more associated with blockchain.

I don't know that there's one but with searching, if there's any relative service just like this one, I've found that there were projects that built to be like this one.

Awesome. Never thought the day would come where you could actually use your crypto to pay for music streaming services. The competition might become fierce in the long term, if decentralized Blockchain alternatives to Spotify or Pandora become a big hit within the mainstream world. As with anything, there needs to be demand for a Blockchain-based streaming service or it'll fail altogether. With the rising popularity of crypto, I'd bet that music streaming services powered by Blockchain technology will become as good as traditional ones which accept Fiat.

Imagine a high-fidelity streaming service using Blockchain technology competing with the likes of Amazon Music, Spotify, or even Pandora. While the tech is still not scalable for the whole world to use, it might be within a couple of years from now. I believe that people will be more inclined to use decentralized music streaming services than traditional ones. But time will tell us whenever this will happen or not. Wink

Good point. Piracy is something we cannot avoid in the free world. While this is an illegal practice, most people don't care doing it. Piracy would negatively affect streaming services' business over the long term. Still though, not everyone takes the illegal route. In a legitimate world, ordinary people would pay for a music streaming service to listen to their favorite music. In the case of services which accept crypto, it's hard to believe they'll become a success. But if crypto continues to rise in popularity and mainstream adoption, you could expect music streaming services to become a big hit worldwide.

At least, the idea is there. But it's up to startups and companies to increase their development and marketing efforts to make this a worldwide success. Smiley

~Full-Time Minter since 2016~
With the increasing popularity of crypto and Blockchain tech, new use cases have emerged within the mainstream world. One of those use cases is the ability to publish your own content online in exchange for crypto. A good example of this is "Lbry" where people can pay an specific amount in crypto (in this case LBRY Credits) to view any online content (videos, articles, etc.) living on the Blockchain. There are other streaming services which allow people to view or post their own videos in a YouTube-like fashion (for example dTube). Decentralized video streaming services don't require you to pay crypto to view the content (as far as I know). But they distinguish themselves apart from traditional services by relying on the Blockchain for everything.

This has led me wonder if there are any music streaming services which accept crypto as payment? It would be something similar to iTunes (or Apple Music) where anyone can buy a song digitally using Fiat (or even stream it online). Even if the service doesn't rely on the Blockchain (centralized), it's fine as long as it accepts popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum as payment.

Does something like this exist? Any recommendations, or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

It will be interesting to see what Bittorrent does in this regard, i could see legit music markets rising out of that if their file system crypto project goes thru
Projects like LBRY are great, but people want kickbacks, and they havent been able to seem to be capable of making that happen in years now...
I dont know of any services that CURRENTLY offer direct crypto payements, nay : /
