I remember the time someone converted a Tesla car to a mining station that you hooked up to the free tesla charging stations...

@Wind_FURY hear hear. Nothing changes what has always made Bitcoin strong and what will continue to strengthen the premise of Bitcoin.

If anything, those who really care and want to find out more, will do so now that this discussion (as erroneous as and uncontextual the facts are when they are slapped on like he did) is again out there.

Fud makes me happy, what can I say.

Anyone who FUDs because of Elon Musk tweets are traders and investors who should not be in this space anyway.

Or they are actually very active and wanted to buy another batch of BTC at a discounted price.  Remember Fud'ers have hidden agenda.

From the start I said the same thing for dogecoin and I will say it now for bitcoin, if we allow him to dictate on the price, we are going to have a lot of people losing money. Obviously there are tons of people who made insane amount of money from dogecoin but that doesn't change the fact that there are tons of people who lost as well and there will be even more that will lose more in the future when Elon decides that he is bored out of doge and no longer tweets about it.

Let's not allow him to do the same thing for bitcoin, he is not a person who should have the power of tweeting a price up or down, that is not decentralization at all, bitcoins code is decentralized but every news makes it go up and down and decide our financial faith, that is not cool at all.

I believe Elon's influence will become like McAfee in due time.  Crypto people will eventually get tired of the person and just do the opposite every time Elon release a statement.

The Honey Badger don’t care for Elon Musk, for anyone. Bitcoin’s economics, incentive structure, and its network effects will keep it chugging along for many many years. Plus the design decisions made by the Core Developers assures it to be multi-generational protocol. The Pandora’s Box has been opened.

That is what Tesla should be doing. Time will tell if they do. Seems like lots of companies have been starting to mine Bitcoin the past couple years. It would make sense for Tesla since they are not just a car company but also an energy company, and Bitcoin mining is literally the conversion of energy into money. Tesla could be like hey we aren't accepting Bitcoin for cars anymore because we don't know if that bitcoin was mined with clean or dirty energy, so instead we're stacking sats by mining ourselves with clean energy. I'd be surprised if they actually do that though. Musk mostly just seems like a market manipulator messing around with joke coins and doesn't seem to really get the purpose or power of Bitcoin/crypto.

Tesla has a new business - mining BTC with solar roofs. This was the sole reason for the tweet of doom - Musk already has a solution!

I don't understand the logic for this. He could still promote his theory of mining bitcoin with solar energy and yet keep the bitcoin tesla adaption.

Quitting bitcoin and promoting doge makes no sense to me if this was the intention.

Regardless though, Elon Musk is really that smart here, playing us, with his supposedly cool tweet and now that he has the solution?

So let's see it seems that he has marketability, but I still take everything with the grain of salt. It will still be very expensive even if he mass produce it.

I posted about that possibility. But OP, it’s just the writer’s opinion, and how it makes sense for Elon to use his company, SolarCity, to become an energy provider for Bitcoin mines. There are still questions like, will solar be capable to provide enough CHEAPER energy than fossil fuels RIGHT NOW, 24 hours a day/7 days week?

That makes sense to me. That instead of being due only to the excuse of environmentalism, which I understand that it matters to a certain extent, it also has an economic component. He has already been fined for market manipulation], as I mentioned in another post, although I don't think anything will happen to him now.
Well he won't be fined since it is a decentralized platform and anything can go in it. Also I think that we are making that tweet like a doomsday prophecy which is a total bullshit and a waste of time, yes the price did go down but will it affect in the future? I don't think so. If he wants to go on a environment friendly approach then he should probably innovate on battery and energy storage so we can smoothly transition to renewable energy.

Theres something thats bothering me cause that article mentions about REC`s towards the govt issuing renewable credits to every EV purchase limitation that they can do. For example the first set of 12,000 cars or whatever for that state.

But its already being fulfilled since his huge invoice is in china where the REC in Chinese govt actually reduces your driver license cost to the middle class there to promote more EV purchases, and almost every station now has a EV outlet to recharge. I dont see what the authors trying to get at "with the revenue stream" drying up. When the huge chunk of the revenue is coming from china hence his factory being in place there.

Totally unrelated: But Jason talks about his pitch with SNL after with chamath with Elon at 12 mins marker. He explains how the topic of Aspergers Syndrome was brought up as a pitch for those who suffer from it.
