First Amendment
The 1st Amendment protects speech, religion, assembly and the press:
However, the government is arresting those speaking out … and violently crushing peaceful assemblies which attempt to petition the government for redress.
A federal judge found that the law allowing indefinite detention of Americans without due process has a “chilling effect” on free speech. And see this and this.
There are also enacted laws allowing the secret service to arrest anyone protesting near the president or other designated folks (that might explain incidents like this).

Today, most Americans believe that the government is threatening – rather than protecting – freedom. We’ve become more afraid of our government than of terrorists, and believe that the government is no longer acting with the “consent of the governed“.

Conclusion: While a few of the liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights still exist, the vast majority are under heavy assault.

the last one, much lol. I am sure Snowden contrary to most "serving" now understand those principles enumerated in here. How it was designed for the pursuit of happiness, and how this happiness was to be the cornerstone of a serious defensive posture by the United States, not some puppets throttling the globe to get cal to burn in it's miic...
Why is the best 3d printer, fun drone, and among the best miner/farms in China and not in the USA? Maybe because there crimes against the State are enforced... and not encouraged with more hands out from the federal reserve bank... So while in America everyone waste their energy and precious time engaging in fight about the toxicity and legalization of gmos, other country are moving to full fill the need of the people (okay, a miner isn't a need like an academic would understand it) but none the less a reason for someone having earned "value" to spend it in it. Which makes it a need.
Then you add the waste of overseas operations in place where frankly... the locals need to grow up, to put it politely and politically corrected. And worst those operations are impacting the homeland, 54 millions food stamp in America, fuku in fire, stu debt, incarceration rate, etc, and what's the name of the new war again? Meanwhile others are solving the problem of their homes at a pace unseen by outsiders of China since 2000 years at least (ROME), making their ARMIES STRONGER.
If your home front is a wasteland, where crooks, corrupts and sinners roam amok why defend it at all... once upon a time "they" leave their basis far out of reach, and see what's happened to their born places... and it ain't pretty. Meanwhile the richest county is in D.C., who lives there? yeahh it's manhattan... blah blah blah. HARD EARNED. Among thieves all money is honest
