However the cable that disconnected my 6800 XT, was the 6-pin riser power connector, not the usb-like riser data cable.

That shouldn't happen. Either it wasn't connected properly or it has a poorly soldered conector.
Yes, indeed the cable is not a standard 6-pin power cable, but is composed by 2 6-pin to sata male and female power cables.
So in the middle of the cable, there is a male sata connector, connected to a female sata one, that ends to the psu with another 6-pin male connector.
So, when i moved my rig to another location, the weak sata connector disconnected by mistake.

I don't like 13 video card motherboards. For this price, I would buy 2 mining kits for 8 video cards and use 1 power supply. And I don't like to mix different video cards on one big mining farm.I don't think you will have problems with Hive OS.

Thanks guys!
Yesterday i received my new ASRock Q270 PRO BTC+(12 1X-PCIE + 1 4X-PCIE slots) mobo and i'm planning to install it:
https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B09NNPMYWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What do you think about this mobo?
If i change the mobo only and i connect all the devices, the cpu, the hard drive the 2 psus and the gpus with the risers, will the system boot and work without any issues?
Obviously the gpus order within Hive, will change completely and i will have to change the overclocking configuration, but other than that, do you think won't be other issues?

Thank you guys and sorry, because it was the riser sata power connector that has disconnected.
Now the rig is working great.

Great that one of the best cards in mining like Rx 6800 Xt is not dead as that scared the hell out of me,I also own two of those beasts and I am very happy with their performance so far.I have switched to a riserless motherboard and since then I never regret doing so,I have never seen a more stable motherboard than this one the H510 Pro BTC.
What type of riserless motherboard you own @swogerino? I heard this bad boy are so stable than all those motherboards using risers,  I might probably change all my motherboards to riserless motherboards after the bear market does it's worse.

I used to use only Biostar motherboards, with risers and they worked good, served me well from 2016 up until end of 2021.In the 2022 year I decided to buy riserless motherboards,I always buy branded ones because there are a lot of Chinese riserless motherboards which I am not confident to get good service for the long run,so I got with Asrock H510 Pro BTC + and I am extremely happy so far.The only downside if we can call it like that is that it needs a powerful processor to run stable,a minimum of Pentium Gold of Lga 1200 socket, personally I run it with a core i3 to have piece of mind.

Good to hear, make sure you use SATA for one GPU only, SATA isn't even advisable for powering powerful graphic cards like 3070Ti and other, I will only use SATA on mid range graphic cards like 1060 super or 6600XT.

Always check the risers first. The PCIe tab doesn't lock so it can easily come loose.

Check for heating SATA contacts on the mining farm. Perhaps this happened due to overheating and possibly due to poor-quality contact. Or you made a mistake when building a mining farm or did not check all contacts before starting mining.

Start with the riser, change the riser before touching any thing else, I have some vega 56 graphic cards and once in a while one or two will vanish in hiveOS, I won't bother checking anything else but once I swap the riser they come back and start mining.

Hi guys, some hours ago, one of my 2 Radeon 6800 XT has stopped working while mining and it desappeared from my Hive gpu list.
I rebooted my rig and nothing changed and the gpu is always turned off.
What can i try?
May it be definitely dead?
