OP: Like Little Mouse mentioned, if you still have access to the e-mail that you've got tied to your account here ( I suppose it's the one in your profile - [email protected]), then upon using the link provided by Little Mouse you should receive the e-mail that would allow you to change your password.

On a second note, what I'm seeing in this post[1]terrifies me - you definitely need to start using a password manager to avoid having all those passwords in your notebook. Imagine that you loose that notebook and someone else finds it - have you considered the damage that that random person could make to every account of yours? Or imagine that your house burns and your notebook as well, what will you do then?

For your own safety, do consider using a FOSS password manager such as Bitwarden[1][2], 1Password[3] (audit results here[4]) or if you want something local, you can always try KeePassXC[5].

Fuck password managers man I'm srry but notebook's are still good if you aren't wasteful with hardware.

@hoss

That was my mistake, at the second I was typing that I DID have access to it but then I went to protonmail after remembering i prolly didnt even set a recovery email cuz I had it on a notebook I was using at the time.

I don't understand this. What hardware are you talking about?

Well since it's an account security thing, I really don't want to specify what hardware I'm using my bitcointalk account from...

Sorry I hope you understand?

Like, TOR starts in windowed mode so adversaries can't see the fucking screen size your using, making their job one step easier.

Which is never good when avoiding adversaries.

The browser I'm using is fantastic at restoring tabs, so that's why I've never had to log out of SeeBiscuit ever since the last time I changed the pass.

Also @LM I "staked" my previous bitcoin profile addy. I remember it vividly out of a list of these addresses associated with the bitcoin faucet I was using at the time.

It's the one beginning with 1391.

I have access to the EMAIL my account is currently linked to.
Since you have access to your email address, you should be able to reset your password via your email easily.

I literally just cant lose or damage the hardware device this is on.

I have. But I think I would have to use the way back machine on my own profile to see it.
I feel you didn't understand Little Mouse correctly. He/She isn't referring to the address shared on your profile. He/she is referring to the addresses posted on this topic and you haven't posted any address there.

@LM, got it.

Any suggestions or advice?

Step 1 should have been long ago (and like somebody quicker also said) : sign a message with one of your bitcoin addresses and post it into this thread in the same way others did.
Step 2 may be to try (from another browser maybe) to change your password via the mail address with https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=reminder

But I would wait for more ideas in case you find mine risky.

This would work but the only issue is that I didn't set a recovery method for the proton mail (on purpose).

Because at one point I didn't think I would need my bitcointalk account Cry.

The main protonmail I use now is literally called [email protected]

I'm gunna try what LM said but I've never signed a bitcoin message before or have done anything with bitcoin core.

BRB.

EDIT: That didn't work.

I have another solution.

The wallet address I posted in my profile was actually a wallet address to a popular bitcoin faucet. If i can still get into that account, I can still get that address and continue with what you recommended.

One sec.

Have you ever posted a bitcoin address on the forum? If you have, use that address to sign a message and stake it in this thread- https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/stake-your-bitcoin-address-here-996318
In case, if you haven't staked, use a new address to sign a message on today's date, post on the above thread. Make sure you have secure the address's private key.

Hi.

I lost the notebook that I wrote my password down on.

I have access to the EMAIL my account is currently linked to.

I have access to all my other crypto shit.

I literally just cant lose or damage the hardware device this is on.

Or SeeBiscuit dies.

Any suggestions or advice?

So I ended up signing a transaction with bluewallet.

If that doesnt work then its truly a dead end.

Locking the thread wish me ruck.
