It's pretty unbelievable how all these forum accounts are being hacked.  Every day I hear "my account was hacked" type posts.  What kind of security protocols (or lack of) do you guys have to be getting hacked so easily?

He signed a messaged using that address. I've banned the account for now.

You have posted 4 addresses before, try searching to see if there are any you can sign from. They are from 2014 though.

I will deal with the possible recovery issue later as you can imagine it will take a while to get a new clean email account that I can trust is not compromised.
Recovering your account might indeed take some while, but best if you send out the message right now.
There's a clear rule how to proceed, take a look at the thread over here: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords.

I understand that. Right now the pressing concern is just to get it banned and for that I was hoping that any mod could verify via BM message and lock/ban the account.

Recovery will be more complicated however as Theymos doesn't accept Bitmessage, and although there is apparently some correlation between Bitcoin and Bitmessage addresses and keys, I am not sure if I can somehow extract the key from BM and sign a message which would verify in Bitcoin wallet. If anyone has any advice on that I'd appreciate hearing it.

Thank you.

If any mod has Bitmessage, I can send a verifying message now just to get the account locked/banned. I will deal with the possible recovery issue later as you can imagine it will take a while to get a new clean email account that I can trust is not compromised.

My original account "illodin" was hacked today. The hacker gained access to my email account and reset the password.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/illodin-185404

You can probably see from the IP logs that an address that I've never used previously has logged in.

Please lock or ban the account asap - I can send the proof from Bitmessage as my profile still has my Bitmessage address after I have created a clean email address:

(Could someone please check my profile and verify that is indeed the Bitmessage address in my Other contact info, thanks.)
