https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
IIRC there are instances of exceptions of having referral/affiliate link on the OP, I guess that's related of freebitco.in, it was a quality thread and full of info regarding the topic and it wasn't deleted, it was held and even got questioned on meta for discussion. I'm still finding this thread.

It was a niche forum for quite a while (probably until around 2013) Theymos probably noticed this and seemed to play more into a community vibe by allowing almost all of the rules to be broken by users.

Most mods still look at the forum in that way too I think and pick leniency.

I would really like a valid reason for my thread deletion
Apart from the primary reason that others have mentioned [referral links], there's also a secondary one:

  • I quickly went over the archived version of the thread in question and "none of them had anything to do with BTCitcoin!"

It wasn’t breaking any forum rules as far as I know
I was putting a lot of work into building an affiliate marketing network

I will check with the moderators and see if they can restore my thread as it was an actual business
You must be new to the internet
I checked your post and it's a textbook example of spam:

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
I will check with the moderators and see if they can restore my thread as it was an actual business I was running on affiliate marketing, not just some random links. Hopefully they will restore it.
It's not going to happen anyway, but if you still want to promote your referrals then signature space is the place and any registered member above the member rank can wear clickable links and if you're finding its hard and taking more time then just go with copper membership which will let you to enjoy the perks of member level rank and singatures too.

To buy copper membership then use this link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Thanks guys for the information on the referral links being against forum rules. Did not notice that when reading over them. As far as what bl4nkcode said, it seems like there are some exceptions if the user is serious about creating a business with them or not spamming, but only in certain cases it seems like when it’s apparent it’s not for spam or misleading people.

I was putting a lot of work into building an affiliate marketing network of people and companies and was planning on actually creating a website soon based on affiliate marketing. Right now I was just in the beginning stages of building the business, so not sure if I was going to make it a full fledged registered company or just make money on the side as as a sole proprietor at this point. I will check with the moderators and see if they can restore my thread as it was an actual business I was running on affiliate marketing, not just some random links. Hopefully they will restore it.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

Meanwhile, here's a thread of full of referral links made on 2012 and still up, 2019 is the latest reply, not sure for the links though

On the side note, you can create a thread, and mention that they/people can check your signature space for the affiliate/referral link as it's allowed.

I don't know if the rules changed but I think it's allowed to put referral links under your signature?
Yeah, that's allowed it here.
Under your signature profile or signature text below on our profile image(avatar) but this feature isn't applicable to OP since it requires first to purchase copper membership as said above.

I also am a verified affiliate employee for most of the goods and services on the thread, so I do work with them officially.
That's not a valid reason, rules are rules and we should follow on it not unless if you want to risk your account from a permanent ban.

Once a Legend said that relevant to your question.
just to clarify... i am allowed to put my ref link in my signature and suggest users use it in my main post?

Do not make topics or replies just to share your referral link. Whether it's in your sig, avatar, personal message, profile, within the post itself, or tattooed on your forehead is irrelevant.

Edited for clarity.

I don't know if the rules changed but I think it's allowed to put referral links under your signature?

But the problem is you won't be able to put any links under your signature because you are still a Jr. Member and only members above can able to put a link.
You will need to rank up first in member rank or buy a Copper Membership to be able to put a referral link under your signature.

Reposting it will likely result in a permaban but if you don't have it stored anywhere and want to post it on other places it's allowed (after reading their rules) you can find your post text in bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts

As said above though, it is against the rules to post referral links in the forum. Also the chance of making a sale from this site just advertising random stuff isn't likely to work out too well - it's the same reason it's not allowed here as there'd be too many threads many users would consider unhelpful and it would spam the boards.

Bitcoin needs you!
This should really be over in the meta section of the forum.
If you have put “a referral link “ in your post - it WILL a be deleted as per the unofficial rules

4. No referral code (ref link) spam.

Hello, I would like a reason my affiliate sales page was deleted. The page was located in the service section. It wasn’t breaking any forum rules as far as I know, and is definitely legal regarding actual government laws. I am starting up an affiliate type marketing business and that was one of my first steps in putting out referrals and links. I had put a lot of time into that thread and the goods and services on it, which I don’t have saved anywhere except on that thread.

I also am a verified affiliate employee for most of the goods and services on the thread, so I do work with them officially. The only areas that I did not work with were listing some businesses with good trading practices that have good products, services, and items. I would really like a valid reason for my thread deletion or my thread to be restored. I have had a lot of clientele that have contacted me from that sales page and also I was planning to continue to add services and goods to the thread. Please let me know, thank you.
