Most of the recommended controllers is raspi 3b.
Yes is the one that is most used. Be aware that the 3B+ will NOT work.
The OP mentioned using a RasPi 2B - have you made sure that you loaded 2B firmware?

Block halving is coming.

This is the problem there is a connection issue on both the miner and controller.

Do you have an extra AUC3 converter? Try to replace it and just keep trying to update or downgrade until the controller detects the miner?.

If you also have extra pi try another raspi maybe your raspi has some connection problem.  Most of the recommended controllers is raspi 3b.

Both the controller and miner (mm) firmware are here https://download.canaan-creative.com/avalon921/ Just use the latest for both. Of course, until the AUC and miner are actually seen by the controller you cannot update the mm firmware...

re the AUC not being seen, try a different USB cable. Many are charge-only cables that have no data lines so look for one labled 'charger + sync' or something like that.

I changed the cable and got the charging+sync cable. unfortunately I still have the same problem

Your Cgminer API log is not giving enough logs yet it seems it doesn't detect the machine yet.

According to your current firmware version is 20190301 which is the latest one

I am not sure about the miner mm firmware which I don't have any idea how to check
MM version you can find the mm version under CGminer status check the image below as your reference
https://i.imgur.com/ywi3a1H.png

If you can not see any device under that there might be an issue with communicating both your miner and controller.
Replugging all cables might solve the issue but if it doesn't try to downgrade the controller to a lower version.

- I replugged all cables and nothing has changed.
- I downgraded the firmware to a lower version beside I tried all versions listed on canaan.io website but still struggling with the same issue

Ja power should be ok using an 1,800w PSU but is not 'quite enough' as I've measured mine to pull just over 2.2kw running full speed in a hot area. In a rush to be the 1st to market with a 10nm chip miner Canaan and the foundry they used (Samsung) rather blew it on the power/speed specs. The 921's are actually slightly less efficient than the venerable A841 is which used 16nm chips.

For a start, do you have a big enough PSU powering it? The 921's will pull from 1,800 up to about 2,100w. Available settings can be found here A little further down on that page see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.48793403

A screen shot of the cgminer status page would be of great help to let us see if the miner and AUC are even seen by the controller.

When you downloaded the OpenWrT controller firmware did you also get the matching miner mm firmware? The 2 must be the same (latest) versions.

re: Nicehash, NH requires the miner to support the stratum call #xnsub to allow it to seamlessly switch the miner to different coins or work orders. Problem is that #xnsub is a security risk as it allows the miner to run any subroutine a pool sends it. Because of that risk Avalons do not support #xnsub.

I am using the bitmain PSU APW7 1800
which I believe is quite enough

I have downloaded the Firmware for the raspberry pi from canaan.io and I chose the latest version. I am not sure about the miner mm firmware which I don't have any idea how to check
I really appreciate if you could help me with this issue. because I believe that the AUC might not been seen by the controller as you said.
The light of the AUC remains BLUE

Thanks in Advance

I have tried antpool.com and also VIABTC but still with the same problem, NO OPERATION

Ok let us troubleshoot can you find the API logs of your miner you can find them on advanced version>Status>CGMiner API Log copy them all and paste it here so that we can have more insight into your problem.

If you can't find the logs then you can follow this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kpcLY7RoTE

I really appreciate your help

I think most of the Canaan miners don't mine on Nicehash so your miner might be not supported.

Maybe switching on another pool will work. I suggest try ViaBTC pool or look another pool from this link below

Dear Support Team

I have Avalonminer 921 from Canaan. attached with raspberry pi 2 model B.

I have downloaded the firmware from canaan.io and put all configuration details as described with the address of the pool.

I used nicehash and put the details of it in the configuration. my nicehash account shows that I have an active rig attached when I start my miner. but the miner is not hashing. The AUC3 LED remains blue and the LED of the miner remains yellow. I tried to do many things for more than 2 weeks. but the problem still the same. I hope you can help me with this issue

thanks & regards
