Hey guys/gals.

I'd like to share my bitcoin excel calculator, I had an hour break at uni so I thought it would be fun to make.

It calculates $ and bitcoin return based on original bitcoin investment and buy / sell prices over a period of 21 days. Handy for people who want to BUY LOW and SELL HIGH (make quick buck lol).

Variable: Input your original bitcoin investment in the [ orange box ]
Variable: buy / sell prices in the [ red box ].

The [ blue box ] is the $ amount at the end of 21 days.
The [ purple box ] is the bitcoin amount at the end of 21 days.

The default data in the excel is based on someone who buys bitcoins low at 100 and sells at a high of 120 over a period of 21 days. They started with 10 bitcoins to invest.

Give it a look, play around by changing the Variables [ orange box ] and [ red box ]. Let me know what you guys think, it's just something I made which during a lunch break so go easy Tongue

No problem... but I was really hoping you'd managed to trojan it, or snuck in a few lines of malicious code amongst a bunch of legit VBA.

I'm really glad to see members actually engaging and being diligent.

I was mostly joking in an attempt to point out that you'd used a formula to set static value.

haha, ye that was actually in cells C3:C23 ... I was probably planning on doing something 'fancier' in the buy/sell cells but I forgot and just left the formula as 100x1 lol. No biggy Smiley

Thanks for checking Nick.

Regarding the sell values inside cells E3:E23

There are no macros in the workbook. No suspicious activity detected and no suspicious network traffic from the VM, but there's something strange happening in E3:E23.

Thanks for checking Nick. Regarding the sell values inside cells E3:E23 I clicked on E3 and dragged down to E23 which fills all the cells in between with the same value, pretty basic excel stuff really... but maybe that's what you're detecting.

If anyone is interested you can follow me on Twitter: https://i.imgur.com/79NYxKb.png
I have a fairly good following on Twitter, and since I also posted this same excel on Twitter, I'm fairly sure they would of found something by now (which they haven't because there's nothing malicious lol).

Maybe will be better if you'll write HTML/Javascript version?

Ye I was planning on coding it up, but I wanted some feedback first. I'll defs code it when I'm off uni in a few weeks.

Haha guys this file is not malicious. I think Virustotal is probably getting false positives. I'm surprised no one tried any other scanners, but I did just to double check in case there was that I, myself didn't know about. Screenshot below. I used http://virusscan.jotti.org/ which checks with Sophos, ESET, F-Secure and Kaspersky to name a few.
Well if you do decide to have a look at it, let me know what you think. Cheers.
