Currently, I have eight concerns about merit system.

1. we don't know how much merit is in the market.
2. how much merit can be generated per day?
3. How could we make sure all valuable posts can earn the right amount of merit it should earn?
4. Which board is the best place to earn merit?
5. The amount of needed merit to upgrade is appropriate to each level? why 10 merit for member?
6. How good of the posts have to be to earn merit?
7. What would happen if a elder high level friend just contribute his share to his friends but not good posts?
8. Will newbie beg merit to wealthy members for merit?

Do you have the same concerns as me? I hope our bitcointalk community will be the best one in the crypto world.

Thank you for your time.

So the main topic about merit from Theymos answers half of your questions, 7) and 8 ) are pretty obvious, 1) doesn't matter and considering 4) why? So you'll post just in that board?

Look, since you're new and have 0 knowledge of bitcoin or crypto (presumably), then why do you feel the need to be the higher rank?

I don't think you people understand ranks as a concept. Think of it like this: You're doing your thing, helping newbies out, giving advice on wallets and exchanges, advice on alt-coin investing,etc... and over time, you'll get better at any specific field and therefore write more helpful, meritable posts. Ranks are there to signify your improvement and if you're not improving, you'll not rank up. Pretty simple.

You got a lot of concern about the merit system. I just wish that you were that much concerned about the forum as well. Smiley

Here are the answers to your concerns:

1) You need not know.
2) None of your business.
3) First make some valuable posts.
4) Try all sections and see.
5) Because the admin says so. Smiley
6) Not like the one you made.
7) He will his profile painted red.
8. Some tried but it never works.

1. we don't know how much merit is in the market.

I am glad that you did not asked for the rate of the merit in the market. You should not worry about the number of merits available in the forum as you need only 10 to rank up to next level.

3. How could we make sure all valuable posts can earn the right amount of merit it should earn?

There is no guarantee that it will happen. Some of your good quality posts may not get merits. But if you are making a lof of such posts, you will get rewarded sooner or later.

4. Which board is the best place to earn merit?

Based on my personal experience, I will suggest you to go for the meta section. But seeing that you have so much confusions regarding the merit system, you should first go through all the existing threads to get some knowledge about updated rules.

Currently, I have eight concerns about merit system.
All my answer about your question is just made by my opinion and knowledge.

1. we don't know how much merit is in the market.
This is not a question, but I think we will never know this unless you are admin.

2. how much merit can be generated per day?
Merit's generate in the situation where 1 person gives another a merit, every 1 sended merit to you, you will earn 0.5 sMerit (sendable merits) so we generate merits in that way.

3. How could we make sure all valuable posts can earn the right amount of merit it should earn?
We cannot make sure that we can earn merit for our post, it always depends on your readers.
Try to read theymos post about Merit.

4. Which board is the best place to earn merit?
In my experience you can get merits in any boards, if someone appreciate it then surely you can get meret.
Also if your post is useful for others and then the topic has many readers the chance of getting merit is bigger.

5. The amount of needed merit to upgrade is appropriate to each level? why 10 merit for member?
You cannot ask this question, trust me bro.

6. How good of the posts have to be to earn merit?
The higher quality the bigger chance to get merit, but never expect merits for your post.

7. What would happen if a elder high level friend just contribute his share to his friends but not good posts?
I think nothing will happen because someone will help his/her friend to learn, and also it is good to help.

8. Will newbie beg merit to wealthy members for merit?
As what I see many newbies beg for this.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Currently, I have eight concerns about merit system.
Well I will try to help, even if I am sure you could have easily got all the answers yourself too if you looked at the threads yourself. But yeah I get it.

1. we don't know how much merit is in the market.
You really dont need to know this. You should concentrate on making constructive posts and not merit.

Quote
2. how much merit can be generated per day?
Merit is not generated per day. It is given to merit sources every month for distribution. That is the sMerits I am talking about.

3. How could we make sure all valuable posts can earn the right amount of merit it should earn?
Even if you dont get merit on a post you consider "valuable" dont worry. Keep contributing to the forum. After all there are millions of "shitposters" who are also trying the same.

4. Which board is the best place to earn merit?
I would say "Development & Technical Discussion" - but I am sure 99% of people here will not be able to comment there. All boards can "technically" get merited, but shitposter infested lands dont get the merit, much. If you know what I mean.

5. The amount of needed merit to upgrade is appropriate to each level? why 10 merit for member?
I am not going to answer this. If you going to be lazy then you deserve no answer. Search this yourself it has been said by theymos.

6. How good of the posts have to be to earn merit?
This is subjective.

Quote
7. What would happen if a elder high level friend just contribute his share to his friends but not good posts?
Thats merit abuse.
Quote
8. Will newbie beg merit to wealthy members for merit?
Because they are shitposters and want to rank up easily. Just like the old times when you could rank up with spamming the forum.

Do you have the same concerns as me?
Literally, No.

Currently, I have two concerns about merit system.

You dont have 2 concerns those are 8.

1. we don't know how much merit is in the market.

Merit is not for sale.

3. How could we make sure all valuable posts can earn the right amount of merit it should earn?

We cant, there is no rules stating that you should give and X amount of merit based on X quality of post. Giving merits depends on the user perspective.

4. Which channel is the best place to earn merit?

CNBC would be the best place.

6. How good of the posts have to be to earn merit?

Go back to question no.3

7. What would happen if a elder high level friend just contribute his share to his friends but not good posts?

These people will get suspicious of your account if you get such a high merit with no substance in your post.

8. Will newbie beg merit to wealthy members for merit?

It will only result in dropping the ban hammer into their account.
