Real or not. Take it as an advantage to secure your MEW even more. Simply just loading your wallet file in your desktop computer doesn't help it. I wonder how much panic did it cost for that notice to all the MEW users. Just stay safe in using your MEW because it is like a hardware wallet where you're the only one responsible for the safety of your funds and not the site because they do not store private keys.

Ethereum Blue was just spreading FUD, and MyEtherWallet has since come out with a statement that their wallet is safe to use. Since then, Ethereum Blue has deleted a few of their tweets, likely to fix the mess they made out of it.

I made a research, of my own, and I found out that MEW's Twitter (with check) blocked EthereumBlue and that was happened last year. And so, there was a Twitter account pop out with a handle @myetherwalIet having a .bid website, that was the MEW they trying to elliminate, not the original MEW. Too sad for Blue.

Thanks for the explanation, was already checking my tokens while getting an eerie feeling  Grin

Yeah. I felt that too.

To everyone who is worried about MEW being compromised: spend the $80 on a Trezor or Ledger Wallet.  It’s worth it for the peace of mind alone.

At first I was afraid, but then checked the source of information.

That was BLUE team: scammers with another useless ERC20 token and totally bullshit-like whitepaper. Their team is just 'amazing': no photos, no real names, no bio - just trust em.

So don't worry; MEW is safe. At least for now.

According to a company called Ethereumblue, MyEtherWallet (MEW) was compromised. Obviously, as someone who regularly uses MEW, it caught my attention in a big way.

They claimed that there was a DNS hack on MEW which implies that the hackers were able to drive users to a malicious website. However, all of this was debunked by MEW. They don' t know what the etherumblue was talking about.

Was this something that you guys also were alerted to?Do you think it was mere carelessness on the part of Ethereumblue, malicious intent or mere senseless FUD?

I guess somebody is trying to copy the successful attack over Etherdelta 10 days ago. Their DNS were hacked and users was driven to a malicious website for a successful theft of $280K.

But I've check it - at least at this point there isn't successful DNS attack over MEW.

I am huge fan of BLUE, i am convinced that BLUE didnt have bad intencious when he try to expose possible threat for MEW customers. So far BLUE did excelent work, acting like crypto shield for crypto community. In this case i would love to hear all sides, because i trully respect MEW, it is best for crypto community to solve this possible threat rather sooner then later.

If it is a lie then ethereumblue will be in big trouble they have caused a big stir and people are checking their wallet to see if their coins are still intact, I also checked my wallet, and feel relieved that all my tokens are all intact, I don't know how they come out with this report, but MEW for me is safe it's the users carelessness that caused them to lose their coins.

I am so afraid to open MEW with lots of info if there is hacking, even someone who advises do not use MEW first. Regardless of that MyEtherWallet makes it simple to create secure wallets without command line or the need to run Ethereum customers on a PC.

Recently, i'am following Ethereum Blue (BLUE) team. So far they has been exposing any scam tokens and security breach at Etherdelta. But honestly, for MEW case, i think it's little bit miss. But it's better we take that advice, better than nothing.
