Painful, but such a small amount, who cares. I wonder how many coins have been lost due to lost pass phrases. Give me 0.1% and I might just be able to retire.

Damn, that sucks for you man. I think there is still much to improve, involving altcoins. Mainly with the ease of use, because right now, you have to do quite a lot of research just to buy yourself an altcoin. First find an exchange, where you can use $ or €, then buy your desired coin, if they have it, if they don't you have to first buy BTC and then go on.
And when you want to store them in a specific wallet, it also gets kind of complicated...You have to be really careful at each step, and do exactly what they require (write passcode down, write wallet seeds).... So i would say, it is not very user friendly at this stage.
