3. My favorite utility wallet is Trust Wallet, I can easily open all dApp from there and put all of my wallets in one app.
There is still nothing worse than close source softwares and apps, Trustwallet is completely a close source wallet, you do not even know if it has spyware or not, I will rather use an app that is completely open source for Bitcoin. Why not then try open source hardware wallet if you have hundred of dollars worth of altcoins.

The reason for the use of an open source wallet or apps is just for security consciousness but it can also lead to the vulnerability of the wallet.

I don't use the Trust wallet at the early stage, I started to use it when they partner with Binance and when I checked their features then the Trust wallet was an open source wallet, not a closed source.

3.Utility wallet

With a good chunk of you guys mentioning cryptocurrency investments, I sure hope ya'll are using a hardware wallet as your cold wallets. Because if not, well..

Anyway, my personal pick is multicoincharts[1].

[1] https://www.multicoincharts.com/

hardware wallet is used to store bitcoins. Most of the funds are placed in online multi-chain wallets to facilitate transactions.

Because you mentioned about apps, my recommendations are
  • Don't search (when you are looking for apps) on Google Play or Apple Store. You will highly be trapped by faked apps, especially on Google Play.
  • If you want to find apps from exchanges, go to coinmarketcap or coingecko, get links to official websites on which you will find links to download apps. Get links on official websites.
  • Same advice when you need to find websites of crypto projects
  • For wallets of new projects that are not listed on coinmarketcap or coingecko, you must be very careful because they might contain malwares. Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action !. Read that topic to understand about such risk.

Thank you very much for your comprehensive information and advice. I really want to give you  merits, but unfortunately there is no more. I will add the content you provided, thank you again.

1.Media information

A.Coindesk: the leading digital media community for encrypted assets and blockchain technology, with more than 10 million unique visitors.

B.Bitcoin Magazine: the first professional Bitcoin Magazine, founded in 2012 by Vitalik and his partner.

C.CoinMarketcap: the world’s best-known market and trend website that provides data on the market value, rise and fall of global currencies. Without a direct official referral, the CoinMarketcap seems to be a single, mostly market-based tool.

D.Bitcointalk

There are a few more that you can add the first one would be from Reddit, r/cryptocurrency and r/Bitcoin are good sources of information. There is another website Cointelegraph that is good for crypto news.

D.bitFlyer: the largest trading site in Japan

For Bitcoin-related transactions, I prefer only using mempool.space and for Ethereum gas fee, I prefer checking etherscan.io/gastracker and for Tron, I prefer tronscan.org

I'm not sure why op only listed few wallets. There are other wallets that can be used and store crypto securely. I only use coinmarketcap to check coins but fpr prices, I compared it to other sites like coingecko. I used trustwallet, metamask, electrum. For gathering information is bitcointalk for additional knowledge, asking questions and more. I also have binance and it can also be used for practicing trading since they have a testnet which @Ratimov made list of sites that you can practice trading or demo trading platform.

Trust wallet
Also just as Trustwallet, Coinomi is also a close source wallet. Although, there could be no option for altcoins, but I will suggest you to use open source wallet for Bitcoin as there are many of them. Hardware wallet would be safe because it supports Bitcoin and many altcoins, and it is open source.

...snip
Aren't those news portal accepts payments for publishing an article whick makes every single of them to be biased? I've been on this forum long enough and read enough threads to know that most written articles should be taken with a grain of salt.

What I think is most beneficial is to use various sources, create a constructive thread that shows your opinions, and discuss it with others.

On a side note, if you're looking for bitcoin resources that talks about the economics, politics, and techological aspect of bitcoin, then you should not miss Jameson Lopp's website.

easy access and friendly user interface app and website will always be my favorite, of course aside from the utility. These are some that I can't live without :

1. Blockfolio (now FTX) where I can check all of my portfolio's price movement, and now you can do other things like invest directly from the app and reading the crypto news. It's so handy and informative.

2. My favorite DEX is pancake swap, it's smooth, easy, and cheap.

3. My favorite utility wallet is Trust Wallet, I can easily open all dApp from there and put all of my wallets in one app.

4. Coingecko and CMC will always be my choice to monitor some tokens/coins

5. I also love DEXtools to monitor my portfolios compared to others because of the real time update

6. For local exchange I love TokoCrypto cause it's a subsidiary of Binance here in my country so I trust the credibility. Besides, it has a low fiat withdrawal fee so it's really convenient.

These are a little part of my favorite app and websites related to crypto that I've been used until now.

I’m not just looking at Bitcoin, I’m looking at other cryptocurrencies, some of the usual channels of information, and I welcome you to share your favorite software

I would add some good block explorers, such as https://mempool.space or https://blockchair.com

When you start using bitcoin you will find the need to use block explorers to see transactions and navigate into the blockchain.

I would also add a good book for beginners, https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook, Mastering bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos, the best book about the subject out there.

I can't do without checking the following apps out even if I don't have any crypto on them lol

1. Blockfolio (FTX) : I use this for tracking all my crypto coins and this app is also capable to giving you latest update about the coin you are monitoring

2. Binance: I use this exchange more than any other and also I use binance pool for my crypto mining activities too

3. Metamask app & Trust wallet: these are the wallets I use to store my crypto coins and I find metamask to be more simpler because we have different chains in crypto today for example BSC and Matic chain, Metamask makes it easier to use any new Main net chains
