This is a serious step forward towards mass adoption and recognition of crypto. People on the forum complain about why people don't get into crypto, but without educating, talking about it, and even mentoring new adopters, things will just not move anywhere. People might not like this, but those 4 points are really important for the future of crypto.
some person's will go there and after acquiring the knowledge of Cryptocurrency they will start castigating bitcoin, and also some persons will also adopt the knowledge and also put it into practice, and it comes to knowledge that not all the countries that bitcoin seminar can be conducted as usual, because some countries is kicking against bitcoin, so when such seminar is throw for such country that is against bitcoin, i think half of people who attend such program can be arrested, actually is good to have physical education of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. No condemnation.

This doesn't work as you state most of the time. There are situations where you may be earning and learning at the same time. There is nothing absolutely wrong with earning and learning, it's just our mind and the society view it.

That's a busy event. Glad you had fun.

"2. Learning before earning: This is one point that stuck. Making money has always been the goal. It is very convenient to forget that there is a process to achieving  that goal. You have to be aware of activities happening in the crypto industry."
Unfortunately, this is the part many crypto and forex traders forget about; many jump first, learn later.

Going through and viewing your image carefully made me so happy but wished I was in attendance, well I will like to know if some practicals where also show during the orientation because without that I don’t think a lot of persons will understand, when it comes Bitcoin I think it needs a one on one practical and understanding

This is indeed a great development, organizing such seminars will really encourage young traders and will surely help in educating many people to know the value of cryptocurrency. I will be very glad if I will see such opportunity to attend meeting like this that discuss about cryptocurrency and trading.

This is great. I’m glad such activities is going on now, educating people about cryptocurrencies interactively in public. Thanks to FXT for this sponsorship. It’s very interesting to see also from the photo that many attended the function. This is a welcome development to the world of crypto.

I'd be willing to attend the same seminar if it were held in my city, but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. In some ways I still have a hard time understanding cryptocurrency [even about the basics] just by reading text so I still need a video tutorial so I can understand it well. So seminars like this I think will really help to understand more things.

Self-Learning specially in cryptocurrency is quite difficult that is why getting a mentor is a must. But don't easily trust anyone on the internet that broadcast themselves as experienced and successful traders on social media as a lot of scammers are just waiting for their next victim. For me, it is much better to seek a potential mentor that you have personally known, look at the community around you, including your family, friends and coworkers who are into cryptos. It is not necessary to have only one mentor, think of them as board of advisers.
You're right about that, thank you for telling me to be careful about finding a mentor but i just wanted to let you know that my mentor is my brother and is a part of my family. So that is why i'm truly blessed to have a mentor that i can trust so much because once again he is my BROTHER and i am so proud and happy that we're a team and that we help each other.

Yes, this is probably the best decision that you have to make before starting your journey here in crypto. Learning should always comes first before earning. We need to be knowledgeable enough to know about things like how crypto works and what is crypto because when you learn you'll be able to move forward towards success. That is why it is very important.
Earning comes naturally after learning. There is no need to rush things.
Yeah, that is why it is spelled as LEARN, you must learn first and drop the L and Earn. But when you can earn you should also not stop from learning, learn earn, earn learn, it is a never ending cycle and that is the way it is to become successful.

Mentorship has its own significance and i'm truly glad that i had one. My mentor introduces me to crypto and taught me very well. My mentor helped me a lot and i am so very grateful to him.

I'm still waiting to see if they'll restart crypto meetups like they used to, but I see the person next to you isn't wearing a nose mask, were you guys all tested for covid-19 before attending the program? There was no observance of the covid-19 protocol. By exposing yourself to a stranger from another location, you are endangering your health.

I won $200 for being the most interactive person in the room...I would not know this things I do now without the forum.
Of course, this forum has proved to be a repertoire of crypto knowledge and great that you showcased what you've and also advertised us. You're a worthy ambassador.

Yes they did. Each area was handled by an expert in that field. The hosts were full of knowledge but short on time in my opinion.
I won't be surprised if some of the experts are members of this forum too but may not have revealed their usernames, considering the creave for privacy in the world.

FTX invited experts like Israel Clement, Obinna Iwuno, Trader Kessy, and Emediong Nkanta, these names are popular in Nigeria crypto Industry. They each handled a different topic bringing their own spice when they come on stage. My only regret was the time given to the speakers was short you couldn't possibly finish a curriculum in an hour. They managed an excellent presentation according to the time given. The seminar lasted for five hours. It was five hours well spent.
I mean like when on the QA/interactive sessions, is there any topics(defi, blockchain, etc) that the audiences have the most interest/curiosity? Do they specifically only ask the bitcoin related question or defi or something?

The Internet was made for them. FTX did publicity around the universities in the city. The attendees were mostly university students, they were provided with buses for transportation to and from thier campus. This gesture eased the process.
That will surely give a convenience to the audiences, I didn't think they even facilitate the transportation there.

@OP noting the point that the various topics presented in the seminar, I wonder in what topic that the audiences have the most interest? Also, you stated that the time length is shorts, how long is the timeframe for each topic?

BTW, congrats on your first meet up with your fellow crypto.

The First three letters of crypto are “CRY”...that was meant to be funny  Grin There is so much in the crypto industry defi, Nft, blockchain technology, investments, blogging. You have to choose an area to focus on and be the best in that field. Consistency is very important you can’t be a crypto investor by day and pessimist by night. Believe in yourself and what you do

I just realized this, crypto and the first three letters are cry. It's true but maybe if you get this word from the seminar then maybe the speaker is very smart in processing words.
Congratulations", I have never join to a crypto meeting since I have known crypto. I'm self-taught and google helped me a lot. Besides that, sometimes crypto meeting fees are expensive so this makes me a little uninterested, besides that sometimes there are hidden goals (not just sharing knowledge) there are promotional purposes, investment advice, investment product offerings. So it seems you also need to be careful, not all crypto meeting's are good.

4. Consistency:
This makes sense but it is really hard to be in that position in this volatile market and much more if you've got the influence of your emotions.
-consistent to follow your goals
-consistent on your strategies
-consistent to believe yourself

I admit I can't be consistent to the fullest. Sometimes we've been influenced by our emotions, sometimes we feel worried and distracted. I don't know why but that I feel it was normal for we are human beings.
I'd like to attend training like this but too unfortunate the pandemic hits us and is given no chance.

This is the best post I have read today. I am feeling very happy for you. Firstly, it's a great decision that you joined the crypto conference.
Congratulations on winning the $200 and I think you deserve that reward because it's the curiosity you have that made you ask those questions.
It's your willingness to learn more and communicate that got you that reward. Yes, even I think that this forum provides abundant knowledge of crypto.
If we go on the right path then this forum can give us all the info we need and also provide us a lot of opportunities to make new friends, to learn, to earn and to develop ourself.

I don't know if the picture is new or old <…>
Well the OP does mention that he recently attended the event. The following links provide further information (and similar pictures) on the event held in Port Harcourt (Nigeria), and the on-going tour itself around various African cities:

https://twitter.com/hashtag/FTXPortHarcourt
https://twitter.com/sesedey/status/1450145451957706757/photo/1

The latter image displays the main spokespersons during the event.

The pictures are recent precisely 23rd October 2021. I took them myself from where I was sitting. Frankly Nigerians aren't as concerned as other countries when it comes to Covid-19 IMO. The cases here have reduced significantly and many believe the virus is gone, and they just want to carry on with thier normal lives.

At first, Seeing lots of people seating each other without facemask and then after reading this post, I research and realize that Nigeria is really not that affected to the virus. Are you guys have vaccine? Personally it's better to attend online seminar than to risk my health on that seminar and looking at your distance against the speaker, Your visibility is not that good to full undertand the discussion. Much better if you have a better position so that you can focus next time you attend some.

Congratulations on your new crypto knowledge.

It is very heartening to see that now people are being made aware of crypto from place to place. Its seminars are being held from place to place. More and more people are showing their interest. I have come across restaurants in my city that have named their special dishes with crypto coins. Such as bitcoin platter, ethereum lemonade, litecoin roll etc. It is very enjoyable to taste such food. There is also a sense of awareness when someone sitting at the front or your table orders that he want a bitcoin platter.

I don't know if the picture is new or old since I don't see any signs of facemask that should represent as happening this year or so. Grin But whatever, the most important part of attending this kind of meeting is to learn to explore or expand your knowledge in crypto. Gaining knowledge from the people who knows a lot of crypto will help you in the future and what you have learned is indeed helpful especially the basic parts of learning before investing or making profit.

You have a point there, but tbh, talking to non-bitcoin people about Bitcoin can be actually very strenuous, there are quite a lot of erroneous ideas about Bitcoin all over the news, internet and media, thus many of this ideologies have been taken in by people hook, line and sinker, as such it becomes almost impossible to educate them on what Bitcoin actually is and how to safely use it, that's the reason why most times I actually don't blame people who try not to talk too much to people about Bitcoin. But having said that, it's always great to educate people about the network if you do have the time and zeal to do so, cause quite a lot of us came into the network cause someone took out time to explain Its benefits to us, thus repaying the favor to someone else isn't a bad idea at all.

I don't really agree on some part in #3. Even mentorship alone ain't going to lead you really far, as well as what you previously mentioned (books and all those resources online). You need a real experience for that and mentorship itself won't really cut it, so I disagree about that.
I learned day trading just by watching Youtube videos, and I learned about Bollinger Bands and RSI without any mentorship. I just kind of screwed up as a newbie, but it was enough for me to get started.

That's great! You attend the crypto meets and have a word with like minded people's to know about their views point and share with them. Moreover some experts giving lecture about the latest crypto trends and exchange of knowledge through these types of seminars is amazing and want to be the part of them if ever get a chance to go there. They will also create some awareness among local that crypto is not what is being portrayed and will be very useful for them in coming time.A well sponsored event from the rising crypto exchange FTX and SBF is taking some really good initiatives to boost the market for his exchange as well market also.

It is a good step to introduce crypto among people in your city and I hope many seminars like that will open in your city and attract people's attention to come and know about crypto.
People will have their enthusiasm to know more about crypto because they will see a new thing in the investment and making money from crypto and that can help them make money in a new way.
Maybe they can ask for another sponsorship from the others who are interested in crypto to invite more people to learn crypto together. If that succeeds, it will boost your city's crypto popularity and spread to the next city in your country.
Congratulations on $200, you deserve that and hopefully, you can use that $200 with the right.

Good to see is sponsorship from FTX, and you're not attending a Ponzi seminar with cryptocurrency method. Since most of them is targeting non-crypto user for the Ponzi scheme who doesn't understand anything about crypto and that's the reason why they targeting non-crypto user because is fish to be a victim. Any plan for your next step?

In most cases like mine, i never had a chance to be mentored until now,i logged on to the web and got a handful of informations about bitcoin, block chains, nodes, mining processes, merkle trees etc.
It wasn't that easy though,i got a vivid understanding when i joined the forum

Seems many people have joined in this seminar. Feeling good after seeing this seminar footage. I would love to join this kind of seminar to learn more about cryptocurrency. Whatever I learn it's just by myself over the Internet. But sadly my country strictly prevents the use of cryptocurrency.

This kind of seminar isn't just helping to learn about cryptocurrency but also helping cryptocurrency adaption directly. More and more people would be educated in this way about cryptocurrency. Hope you learn a few good things from there.

If there aren't any seminars at least in neighboring cities, maybe it's a sign that you should probably start one. Wink Assuming that you can afford taking the risk, of course. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of reputable people in the bitcoin space to speak in sort of lower-end conferences. Probably not the likes of Tone Vays, Andreas Antonopoulos, and the Blockstream peeps of course, as they'd probably be too expensive to hire.

In my beloved country Philippines, we’re still not yet allowed mass gatherings of any kind even if it’s seminars, meetings, etc., about cryptocurrencies (even if it’s just a small crowd). Hopefully one day when we reach herd immunity and mass gatherings would resume, I would not hesitate to attend or host a crypto meeting here in my hometown.
Exactly, I remember before when the pandemic begin there was a conference here in my town and that was sponsored by Forex trading if I'm not mistaken and there are a lot more and I have heard Binance too but that was on the NCR which is far away on my location.  Hopefully, we're back to normal so that we can attend crypto meetings like this.

I wonder why on the image there are none of them wearing masks or any protective gear.  Is your place is covid free now?

2. Learning before earning:
This is a must when people embrace crypto, we should learn first before aiming for profit.  It's easy for you to understand and protect your asset once you're knowledgeable enough.  I hope every community will conduct a meeting like this and also in your place when the pandemic has totally vanished and back to a normal operations like mass gatherings.

Yesterday, I attended a crypto seminar in my city.  I knew I had to be there to increase my knowledge about cryptocurrency. There were popular crypto traders present as speakers, there was an interactive section where we were given the opportunity to ask questions. Afterwards we had dinner with the speakers. I got the opportunity to have a close look on what it means to be a crypto trader or investor. I won $200 for being the most interactive person in the room. These are some of the points I went home with
1.Identify with a community: I am glad I have bitcointalk forum.  I would not know this things I do now without the forum. We live in an age of Google, YouTube videos and tiktok where everyone is a professional. I guarantee you the quality of information dispensed here on a daily is incredible. When you come to a community such as this. You don’t have to ask stupid questions the first thing is to carefully read through the threads. Understand the subject being discussed before asking questions. Every community has its rules, try and be conversant with those rules so you don’t get kicked out. I'm happy to be here I would not have made that $200 if I wasn't a member of this community.
2. Learning before earning: This is one point that stuck. Making money has always been the goal. It is very convenient to forget that there is a process to achieving  that goal. You have to be aware of activities happening in the crypto industry.
3. Mentorship is important: There is a old saying where I am from "if you have a father you will fly farther" that means you will fly on their wings. Mentorship is essential for you to learn crypto trading. A mentor gives you experience. I know we are in a digital era where you can learn trading courses online and read books about cryptocurrency. That alone cannot gauarantee success. Mentorship is the shortest cut to success you need to differentiate the hype from the value. You have to aware of activities in the crypto space. Know the real from the fake. This is something you learn from experience. You must learn to differentiate the value from the hype. There are lots of so called successful traders online and offline. You will be shocked to find they have nothing to offer.
4. Consistency:There are days crypto will slap you in the face.

This is impressive and encouraging for your bold step taken in seeking more knowledge acquisition in Cryptocurrency, i will also advise you to hold on to it and also impact on others who are below you, you've soughted out for the best asset which could help your crypto career and am wishing you all the best and Congratulations on your winning of $200 its really a sign of good beggining and your presence was felt.

Seeing a good amount of people attending this meeting make me happy. Congratulation in winning $200 for being active in that meeting. Learning before earning is the most important part of this journey but finding a Mentorship is not that important as there are more scammers and profiteers in this field. I believe being active in this forum will help a lot than being with a mentor.

This is absolutely nice, that is another dimension to expand the intellectual capability towards acquiring extension's of
cryptocurrency knowledge via  seminar and outside bitcointalk community, it sounds interesting, because the information of seminar always boast cryptocurrency knowledge and understanding with the exception of YouTube online tutorial video and joining this two concept of bitcoin lectures, i think whoever that have motive to attend seminar really have bitcoin in mind and is ready to comprehend the rudiments cryptocurrencies at all.

This is interesting! I apparently haven't haven't opportuned to attend one but given the time and chance, I'm sure I won't blink. It would be a thing if interest to be amongst fellow Cryptopreneurs who speak the same language and its understood by the multitude and also share ideas on not just how to exploit the field but how to let people know that crypto is legit and also the future.
It would be like having a physical bitcointalk environment in the real world just with a difference as per session. Bitcointalk is 24/7, the real world isn't. Its a good one!

Ah, FTX, of course. What doesn't FTX sponsor these days? LOL.

But back to topic, I see that you're more of the "social" type of person; glad you found your own method of learning. Having communities and/or mentors are great! But don't forget to also do your own reading as well, as to not limit your knowledge. Try looking up Andreas Antonopoulos' content. He has books if you like reading, and he has a YouTube channel if you prefer listening.

I’ve read that the event was hosted for around 500 people, treating topics such as defi, blockchain, derivates, futures and such. That is a hell of an audience, and the topics treated are not that easy to grasp for everyone.
I wonder if the majority of the assistants were mostly crypto enthusiasts with a certain crypto base, or whether, on the other hand,  a large sum of them were novel to crypto (which requires a more diluted explanation).

Yeah me too was curious how's the seminar goes. Does they explain anything about defi and nft as well? Appreciate your feedback.
Yes they did. Each area was handled by an expert in that field. The hosts were full of knowledge but short on time in my opinion.
@Darker45 the seminar was very educational. A crypto seminar cannot be called one if they do not talk about bitcoin, its history, and so on. I learnt a great deal and I am looking forward to attending other seminars and meetings like this.

Oh God you know how much I’ve missed conducting and attending physical crypto meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. It’s a good thing that in your area, you guys have managed to conduct seminars like this despite that the pandemic is still here.

I am curious as to what the specific topics were in the seminar. My hunch is that it was more or less focused on wise and safe approaches to crypto investment and trading. I suppose the sponsorship of FTX matters a lot as to the general direction of the seminar.

Was there a short overview of what Bitcoin is, its fundamental features, its philosophy, and so on? I am asking this question because oftentimes the problem with this kind of seminars, especially if they are attended mostly by newbies, is that they create an impression or perception that crypto or Bitcoin is some kind of investment opportunity.

2. Learning before earning: T
Well, this is where everything starts, isn't it? That's why there are schools too to learn on early days and earn on the later time.

It's really happy to see the picture, many people are interested in learning or at least getting to know what is cryptocurrency.
During this time, I only met some people and held a meeting that was not official and just having conversations related to Crypto just, not on an official event like this.

2. Learning before earning
This is the basic. But many beginners skip this step and only focus on earning at first in which they actually don't really know what they are entering. That is why many newbies are losing most time because they do what they don't really know.
That is why learning is very precious to understand at least the basics and also to learn more about crypto and all things around. Because learning crypto is complex and it needs more time to at least know the basics.

The seminar was not directed at ponzis or high yield investment profits. I
Anyone who listened to the speakers will know better than to buy into lonzi schemes. was a meet up for those in the crypto industry and newcomers. FTX used the platform to talk about their exchange and gave their reasons why they are better than other crypto exchanges

That's a very vital point and I am glad that you identify this point at a very early stage of your crypto voyage. Most people think that crypto is just a place to become rich overnight or it's all about buying at low and selling at high. But in reality, it's very difficult to handle the wildfire of crypto and only those who have prior knowledge and training can handle it with care.

I am glad to see that there was a lot of people attending to the meeting. It was sponsored by FTX, wasn't it?

Congratulations for the prize of $200 and thanks for pointing out that the community in this forum is reliable. I hope some of the attendees join bitcointalk thanks to your interactivity and they can keep educating themselves in this topic too.

Beautiful reading, thank you again SatoPrincess Smiley
