Hey all - just finished building out my first dedicated mining rig and wanted to share a few pics and info about my build.

I wanted to start with something middle of the road and this machine so far is proving to be a nice fit for my intentions.

Hardware:
ASRock Z77Extreme 6 MOBO
Intel G2120 CPU
Corsair 4GB DDR3 RAM
OCZTech 60GB SSD (was refurb, only a few more $$ than USB stick)
Corsair HX850 PSU
MSI HD7950oc TF3 GPU (3x)
Standard milk crate case
"custom" built wood base for mobo mounting
non powered PCIe riser cables (3)
power switch (mobo has button in back, but this was only $2 for having switch in front)

Software:

This was simply amazing - I only had to adjust a few very minor items in the config file and away I went.  LOVE the remote web status and headless operation defaults!!!!

I have built many computers in my time, but never one using a milk crate LOL.

For the wood base I drilled 1/8" holes for the motherboard stand off screws.  It was a little snug, but they did grip and are holding nicely.  I just kind of winged it so a few of the holes didn't line up but the motherboard rested on the standoffs just fine.  None of the holes were more than a 1/8 off but some of them just didn't line up and I wasn't going to force it.

I also advise cutting off a few access holes from the crate early in the assembly.  I got a little ahead of myself and cut those off after a few items were already in the crate.

Using wire ties to clean up the wires and mount the PSU and SSD on the back worked pretty well.  I originally had the SSD up a bit higher but due to heat off the last GPU I moved the SDD down a bit and it is much cooler there.

Overall really pleased with the airflow, cooling and hash power.  I am getting just over 1800kh/sec with less than 1% stales.   Temps are in the low to mid 70s.  Core is running at 1053 and memory 1451.  Voltage at stock for now, but I will probably play around with it after it runs for a week to let things settle.
Of course it may be 6-8 months for ROI but I did get "lucky" a few weeks back with FTC so that paid for most of this Smiley

Cheers!
