Also, head on over to https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page and browse around in there.

If you feel you absolutely must apply some energy into the bitcoin network, you should probably mine in a pool.  Going at it alone with a couple of CPUs will not be worth it.
For the Intel CPU in your desktop, ufasoft's SSE2 miner should be your best bet.  Alternatively, you can try jgarzik's CPU miner and see if it works just as well.

YGOLD is a Defi platform
If your GPU doesn't support OpenCL, the only way you can mine is using your CPU. That will be insanely slow and not worth it.

With such low powered computers, forget about mining. There was a time when you could have made some coins from CPU mining but now it's really in the hands of the people who have invested in it (think big racks of high end graphics cards).

But welcome to bitcoin! You've found one of the best currencies around Smiley

To get started trading with real people in personal transactions, join the room #bitcoin-otc on the irc network irc.freenode.net (http://webchat.freenode.net/)

For smaller amounts with fees but quick access to coins, http://coinpal.ndrix.com/

For larger amounts head toward http://mtgox.com/

So, it's not the free money that you thought it was (though you certainly can play the market and potentially make quite a bit), but it's still a damn good system!

Hey guys. I'm really new to this whole bitcoin thing. What I get, is that you use your CPU or GPU to download, or solve math equations and that gives you Bitcoins.

You can then sell these for real dollars, or buy things.

But both of my computers graphics cards, are horrible. They don't support OpenCL. I have a
Laptop: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/ Nforce 630M
Desktop: Intel GMA X3000

Neither support OpenCL. How can I do pool mining?

What ways can I get bitcoins?

And is there a way to trade currency, like FOREX for bitcoins? As to make a profit from a small amount of bitcoins?

Thanks!
