That's fucking awesome dude. I just watched an old movie, called American Pop from like 1980 - This is EXACTLY what your background images reminded me of, which is fucking awesome, because I love that movie, and the art/comics etc. 
I can see the connection, though I never saw the movie. I also love some of the aesthetics of that era, it must show in this illustration!
Thinking of how I'd want to hang this on my wall or have as a collectible.. my favorite choice would be as a Signature Series Kialara. Wonder how well it would scale down though.
Hard to say, maybe not the entire thing but portions of it. It'd definitely worth playing around with a bit.
