It is good to celebrate an independent but I no sure say E good make we celebrate now, we know that every October is a good and joyful day for Nigeria but at this right time we no supposed celebrate anything like independent, independent should be celebrating for country wey get better achievement, our country matter dey come back every day, we no dey see any progressive, how come we go celebrate independent for country wey things are hard, money no dey, food price don cost, electricity no good, road no good, haba all this thing's supposed to dey alright for the country wey dey celebrate independent, we no fit dey celebrate independent wey things no dey normal, and if we continue like this we fit end up to the extent wey we no expect.

To be honest Nigeria na better country wey God bless with best thing that no any other countries get am, na Nigeria be best country wey dey produce oil, and we all no that oil na important thing in life even the white people they respect us for that one, but we never get good leader's, some people be they try talk say naija go good naija go become good country one day, Oya can someone tell me when naija go become a better country, people are dying every day and we wey remain no know the day we too go die, if we die for the country wey dey hard waiting we gain, at least if person die for better country even your soul go rest in peace, but person go die for hard country wey even your dead body go dey shake say him no see better place to stay, the only thing I will like to say is that we should just be praying for good life and ended well.

We have all to succeed more than the level we are now but bad leadership have brought us backward, how can a country that export oil don't have her own refinery, the cost of living is practically trying to kill the living, it break my heart when our vote wasn't counted because we the good people of nigga wanted to make things right, but it wasn't meant to be.

All in all nigga for life.
Naija is a blessed country but still nothing to show for it, naija get better resources that most Europeans country don't even have and this Europeans countries dey do well without much resources but with everything naija get suffering they increase every day by day. The problem of naija is waste management and every politicians whenever they have opportunity of be in charge of any position it is an opportunity for them to steal money. Our politicians is just our problems in naija.

Because the presidential candidate you wish to be the president did not win does not mean that your vote does not count, but just accept the defeat because no one among them can make better the foundation that has been negatively affected. See Nigeria as Nigeria and other how most other African countries are and be wise about your life. No matter how bad a nation is, some people will be rich, think towards the direction about what can make you rich.
Thinking towards the direction about what can make we Nigerians rich is a very good idea in this dilapidated economy with yet no blueprint for restoration of the situation. But that doesn't mean we should lose hope on the nation by believing or thinking that there can't be any salvation to the nation's negatively affected foundation. What we have right now is 99% of bad people in governance and nothing more short of that and if these bad people are reduced to a drastic percentage of %15 with good people on a higher side then we will have the foundation under construction and repairment and Nigeria will start working great again.

If am using the administration of late President Umaru Musa Yaradua as an example of a good leader how Nigeria economy turned up competitively among other nations of the world even though the Yaradua's was cut short by his unfortunate demise due to sickness.

The problem with Nigeria is bad leadership, and that is why election is there to vote out bad leaders but Nigeria own is the opposite, election is always conducted to put in worst government than the previous one by INEC. Abi na only Nigeria dey, wey be say the masses no go fit vote for their choice make e come to pass. Just look at the history of Nigeria till date every new leader performs worse than the previous one. I know no why we no fit tell ourselves the truth, because me and you know say this pervious election and other ones were always rigged. Na only government fit change a country and nothing individual fit do to change the country economy. When wehjave corrupt leaders how will the country economy grow when they don't have the vision to make things work out. My broda, for this country na only you fit help yourself o, if you dey wait for good government na there you go die in poverty, so make you try look for something wey you go they do to use survive for the country so that no matter how the country be, he no go affect you. Imagine 63yrs with worst economy like this. Check out Malaysia that gained independence 1957, three years before ours, has a good economy and we have more natural resources in abundant that them. Omo na your leaders fit move the country forward or backward.

I just the see this thread now,  and first make I correct you on the title of the thread the pidgin spelling for Naija that you used is wrong and for a good pidgin speaker,  the word Nigga means another thing and not meaning Nigeria as you intend it to be,  so it will be appreciated if that part is corrected as this is one of those threads that will attract attention for long discussions on this subject matters.

9ja will be great again,  but it will take the efforts of me and you the citizens to make that happen,  congratulations and Happy 63 Independence to us.

Well, the current situation of nigeria and in Nigeria today is rather heart breaking, it's really unfortunate that we as the citizens of nigeria have to suffer and endure so much pain and hardship which is as a result of bad decisions made by those we all appointed to lead us.

But all the same, ones origin is his or her origin, he or she can never run away from his origin even if he or she travels out and stays there for as long as possible..

So for me, I believe Nigeria will work again, a day will surely come when we all will look back at this days and be thankful to almighty God and Allah for how far He has saved us, but still, the unfortunate thing is that, even by then, suffering and hardship will still exist for so many, most especially, those who are not investing now.

My greatest joy for my country people is that we're survivers, eh no get any kind situation wey we no dey survive. If them like make fuel prize hike to 1k per liter, we go dey burn fuel. If them like them 1 bottle of beer be 1k men go the drink beer. If keke people like make them charge a drop for 5k men go dey take drop. There's nothing new happening in Nigeria again. This is my 28 years in Nigeria, and I can beat my chest that government have not contribute to my welfare. Move on my people the government got no good intentions for you, where I dey confirm these na the hidden COVID-19 palliative, as I dey watch dey video that year I dey cry, there prefer make the pallative spoil for the warehouse than say eh reach to the poor masses, still we the survive. If government dash you N100, that means them done chop you 100 million. The system is corrupt there's nothing we can do about it. Aloha 🕊️

Those of them weh keep this country as e bi because of greed weh deh benefit them and their families, thunder weh go come from Asia go fire them all. As them no let our votes count in the last election na so God no go let them count when the history of men who helped this country back on track is written. There is no excitement anymore each year weh Oct 1 reach. When we deh grow up na event weh we deh look up to, the school match pass and other things. We deh celebrate am with rice and chicken self but that kind thing no deh again.

For every Oct 1, I dey always vex becos e dey always remind me say dis our leaders dey really waste the efforts of our heroes past.
No be lie, October 1st remains a significant day to the country and in the life of every Nigeria and like before, we dey see the patriotism in every Nigerian as that day dey green and white all over. Lately, that thing don change drastically. E no con be watin dey bring joy anymore for our people, e dey bring sadness in the hearts of our people via say, e dey remind us how far we don go but how little we don come.
Like, how people wan dey celebrate hardship and things way no dey ever change for good. Things just dey worst and worst.

When we talk about heroes past, these heroes no really do pass to secure our independence o. There lack of structure na em set the pace for this our wahala today. Not to mention say, this borrow to chop idea start with them.

True we have to reason this matter because the way this our country is taken us backward we don't understand, we're here celebrate for our 9ja @63 and the leadership don't even look over us. The most painful thing is that 9ja dey take responsibility of export the oil but dey didn't plan to have their own refinery .

Dt's why I dey always celebrate my independent for my house make i know waiting killed me, we dey always try to make proud of our nation but the leaders don't want our 9ja to succeed because of their weakness, but with God everything most come better. If not the wey cause of living wan deal with living now we know just understand.

Although as Nigeria dey old dey go nah to just dey hope say one day e go better because if we think am the other way round, some of those countries way better to dey nah Grandpa and Grandma's for were Nigeria dey, so make we just dey look weder as Nigeria dey old dey go e go better small small.

For every Oct 1, I dey always vex becos e dey always remind me say dis our leaders dey really waste the efforts of our heroes past. I know say to bring about change nah collective effort but then, them no dey help matas. How can you keep piling up debts just so you'd line your pockets and be on the next flight to abroad and deceive yourself that you're repping your contri on a talk or meeting when yo house is on fire?
The way I see am, naija no sopoz dey celebrate independence day because I no see wetin we dey independent from? Lies? Corruption, nepotism, insecurity to name a few? See eh, we no sopoz dey complain about the shortcomings of Naija because of a truth, the contri is blessed and even though e no dey as developed as China or the States, at least we no dey suffer earthquake and heavy natural disasters as them but still, on a daily I dey lose hope say this country fit dey free from corruption.
Chairman you don't have to be angry you know because this country na only to dey atleast count the positive out of all the whole nonsense and rubbish wey person don see for the nation. Because if you wan rely on the bad side of the nation then problem go full your mind and thats why having a positive mindset is the way forward and plus the fact say na all of us nai need put hand carry this country go forward because if we all comot body den the thing go just worse more and more.

Bad leadership and its corruptions in the political has been in existence for of not even from the origin.
@ OP did just released ur vote did not count this time or your votes ever never counted? Meanwhile... Ur invalid vote as the case maybe isn't the remedy to make a better economy in the society today, u lost an election does not mean votes were not counted. One thing is sure that "you one would always find and excuse for failure" and "one would always feel biased if justice was not his victory".
If the Govt must create good governance and good lives to the society, it depends on the good vision of presidencies(leaders) and not about your desired (choice) of the presidency (s).
Politics I widely range game of interest and vision.

OP, so sorry say you dey feel the pains of Nigeria o but things go better.  Naija go dey great again as the Giant of Africa. Our votes go count well, we go get the good leaders wey we dey pray to God for to give us, our economy go dey stable again, we would not have any security challenges anymore, job opportunities go dey plenty and all other amenities wey Naija need go dey available.

As the matter be like this ehn Na to dey productive o. If you must survive for this Alma, you must get something doing to cushion the effect of the economy on you.

As for vote, plenty people dey talk about am say their vote no count but make you for know say  already for Naija e get as election matter dey be here it's  only the powerful that takes it all by fire and by force.

Naija go better!

I definitely get what you saying op, the country is really hard. But you know, if you work on yourself, personally, you're not going to feel whatever hardship the country is facing. And also, seeing as you love your country so much, you know you can help make it better in your own little way, however you want to.

Though the country's oil price is soaring high, it doesn't mean we don't have a refinery, because we definitely do. We just happened to still be depending on the imported refined products, and then the subsidy case.
So, Nigeria at 63. It'll surely be better, someday.
