You shouldn't enter by guessing. Learn some basic TA and enter when its on support/demand area or on some moving average. If it fails to hold, get out and re-enter at a better price.

technical analysis misses a big part of cryptoreality though: we can have 3x more people joining in a month. so historical data set does not represent the future.

I think this is caused by the concept of FOMO.

The thing gets hyped and you thought you where missing the boat.

Be prepared the next time this FOMO feeling kicks in. Just wait, the price will probably come down again for you to get in the boat.

And if the price doesn't come down? Just accept you missed it and look for the next thing.

FOMO explains it nicely indeed

So after reading all the negative feedback about Numerai in a previous topic you posted in also.

([ NMR ] Numeraire - What do you think about?)

You decided it was a good idea to invest 2.3 btc?  Roll Eyes

yeah call me stupid. and you are right.
i am not yet broke though.

i have a diverse portfolio Smiley
Thats good that you do have diversified portfolio and regarding on that coin i do see it on the past but i didnt decide to put up money on that one. Sad to hear for your loss but you are not the only one whos experiencing loss and lots of traders do have this kind of situation. I cant say that you should cut losses or holding even more. If you are a type of a person which do love to risk until the last price movements then better to hold. If you feel its the best time to cut loses then do it,it would really depend on you.

Somehow, I bought this thing few days ago, thinking it is a very solid concept, and not a scam.

i still think the same.

however, i lost 2/3 of my value in this. clearly because i do not understand the economics that drives its price (so how does this get generated, how much gets used etc).

anyone else got hurt like me?

Not yet sold, so it can go lower or higher.. we will see.

Thats very unforutnate and sorry to hear that has happened to you. Similar thing happened to me where invested 0.5 BTC and now its virtually worthless on a coin. Most important thing here is I would say learn from it and try not to repeat that mistake again. Do your due diligence, only invest what you can afford to lose and you be fine Smiley . GL with this coin

My suggestion is to hold first and it might get pumped again a few weeks or months from now.

Well at least you learn something from that incident, it is a beginner mistake and somehow it's a process that need to go through, I also ever experienced the same thing but not the same coin, that coin was promised to be implemented in the different and a lot of casino but in the end it didn't succeed and I lost quite amount, after that moment I realised to not just blindly believe in any coin and not too believe coin developer too much
