Alt coins are like greek Sirens; memeplexes that feed off the naivety and credulousness of unsuspecting passers-by.
Considering the vast supply of stupid people, its not surprising that they multiply like rabbits. Idiocy is a powerful energy source.

Of course, just like the lives of all of those pointless fluffy rabbits that do nothing except eat, crap and fuck each other all day, alt coins are an ultimately futile and pointless venture and have nothing to contribute to the overarching objectives of the cryptocurrency movement. While they might look cute and fluffy, and could have some limited use as subjugated 'pets' to their bitcoin masters, there is zero chance that they will ever achieve the global penetration that bitcoin has (let alone surpass it) making them inferior for use as a viable money in the long term.

Alt coins will come and go as long as there are enough stupid people in the world.
So they are probably not going away any time soon. Until one improves on the bitcoin protocol fundamentally.

Welcome! Smiley

By golly does one realize how much things have changed in Bitcoinia when noobs enter Bitcointalk asking for assistance with their altcoin mining issues! Thus does one also realize that litecoin and namecoin are scarcely alt-coins anymore; they are practically granddaddy cryptocurrencies in their own right now.

Much appreciated and thnx.

As for my initial Question, I've been searching the interwebs for about a week for an answer but to no avail. Thus my motivation for proceeding with completing this registration after having signed up several days ago... I need to be able to posit questions to the Community-at-large. In this case in the Alt Currency section. Thanks for the advice.

New to this Forum.... so... um..... Hello.

Also, seems that I had 250 StableCoin in my wallet from mining (17 found, 7 orphaned), , got the required confirmations (6/block), waited for them to mature (32 blocks), then had them available. Good news, right?
Well, about 15 minutes after I stopped mining, all 250 of them were gone. I checked the Debug window only to discover that all 10 had suddenly been reclassified as Orphaned. How can that happen?

Why was I mining these falsely-so-called StableCoins? Yup, you guessed it... am a Noob to this mining stuff. Using the low difficulty rate coins to learn how all of this works. Now I just need to get a few gazillion block erupters and I'll be good to go.... maybe.....  Grin
