Topic: My Oneplus 5 story (Read 121 times)

So around 24th May,2017 my Samsung galaxy 6's display died and I had to pay around 16000 INR to get a new one and I decided that it was better if I bought a new phone. I was looking for other cheap Samsung smartphones, then, my brother introduced me to OnePlus and told me to wait till 10th June as he thought that the oneplus 5 was going to release then. He suggested that I buy the Oneplus 3T as the price would drop. I started googling Oneplus and its new device and the hype and soon I got obsessed with it.

I started knowing more and more about it and decided that I am only going to buy this phone, 10th June came by and I found out that the phone is releasing in India on 22nd June, 2017. I wanted to buy the tickets but unfortunately I had an exam on 12th June and missed it. Then came then giveaway challenges and I did a pretty good job (I guess) but failed, I took part in every single giveaway and failed miserably.

On 20th June I skipped my college and waited all day to watch the broadcast and I felt like a happy human being. I fell in love with it and could not wait till I have it to myself then luckily I won one of the OP5 raffle and won the invite code and I couldn't wait anymore, 22nd June came by and I disappointed with India's launch.

Now my biggest problem is cash, I don't have cash in hand, I do have a credit card though and I do not mind using it. On 22nd June at around 4:38 I purchased the Midnight black OnePlus 5 at 38000 INR on amazon, I could not use the website and Invite code as it did not allow international credit cards (bad luck 1) After 2 days I got an email from Amazon UK that my account is banned and my order is cancelled (bad luck 2) I called amazon but got no solution, the only solution was to fax them my Credit card information and I have no patience for that, Amazon wasted 3 days of my life and used my brothers account to buy again and he got banned(bad luck 3) too and then I increased my Credit card limit and purchased again and got banned again( bad luck 4) so now I have 1,14,000 INR stuck with amazon.

After days of crying and crying and crying on 30th June, I decided to ask my uncle to buy it for me and I would pay him through PayPal, I sent him money through PayPal (around 670$ just in case) and PayPal takes 30$ as a charge and he gets the money then turns out (he lives in Qatar) PayPal Qatar does not let you withdraw your money to your bank account (bad luck 5) he tries to send me back my money but PayPal India's new rule is that you cannot send personal transactions(omg my laptop died but thank god the forum saves stuff (bad luck 6)) So PayPal took another 20$ but I got no gain out of it, it was 4th July by now...

So we decided that we will purchase through USA, my aunt lives there and my other uncle is coming to India on 14th July. While purchasing the model I want the problem is that it is going to take 14 days to ship (bad luck 7) and going to be delivered on 24th july (bad luck I payed 10$ more for faster delivery but it it is now going to come on 20th July. By now all my money is used up and PayPal took another 30$ for transaction and now I owe my aunt 24$ (bad luck 9) We hope that it arrives before 14th July so I can get it but it does not( bad luck 10)......

I tried talking to OP customer care but they can't help. On 20th the phone arrived and that makes me more obnoxious that I can't have it. To my luck one of my aunts is going to US to attend a wedding and she is returning my 7th August (yay) I have been counting down since days 30 and now I have to wait 6 more days. The months of June and July were so painful, I cried almost everyday, grew impatient, went helpless but did not lose faith.I watch OP5 videos everyday for hours to feed my hunger, I am that obsessed. 6 days more, wish me luck guys.. I love OnePlus 5
