First off,You need to make your coin valuable which is main problem. If somehow your own coin gets attention and becomes valuable which is very hard the site surely is going to be successful. This idea theoretically looks shining but practically is tough.

In my opinion you must have some kind of house edge even if it is 0.01%, secondly creating your own altcoin is a pain, just use the bitcoins and 2-3 major altcoins.

Hiya everyone,

Unfortunately I am to concerned with the legal side to do it myself but thought I'd share my idea for anyone who wants to take it up.

I was going to suggest a dice site with no house edge e.g. a player has a 50/50 chance to win/lose.

You might be thinking, well where is the profit in this?

Well, along with creating & running the site you would also create your own altcoin (similar to clams) with some premined. This would mean that you could take 50/50 odds bets in the currency without suffering a financial meltdown. It also means there is instantly a demand for the coin in that people can use it to bet in the first (as far as I'm aware) 50/50 dice site. Furthermore similar to JD you can offer commission based services for staking.

I think its a great idea personally.

Would be interested to get your thoughts and if anyone does do it, I would love a hefty tip for the suggestion! Wink

Thanks.

I'm not sure that creating your own altcoin is a good idea, but I liked this part of your suggestion very much: "a dice site with no house edge "
If you create a good working site with no house edge it will attract all the gamblers in the world and then you can make money on advertising.

Well, I think you would still earn with 0.25 house edge. No matter how you would think there is still earning, use dogs ltc nxt btc... Most popular they are more are used.

Why not use bitcoin? If you want to build a gambling site.
Build gambling site and create an altcoin at once is not easy as you thinking.

We at www.crypto-games.net are using similar idea, except our coin is not mined and is not on exchanges.
Our own coin - PLAY-Money can be used as regular coin and then exchanged to bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin and others.

One problem with this idea is that people won't be knowing about the new altcoin we make on our own, thus low traffic on the site so I don't think its worth doing it unless you have really good advertising skills.

What if there is no interest? then there will be no people betting with that because the price will be very low or maybe 1 satoshi and maybe the coins will not even be in any exchange
