Don't forget that claims are being processed manually so it can take a long time... there is still a small chance to get your money, jago25_98 .

This happened to a friend of mine after the Mt. Gox hack.  He never had an account on Mt. Gox but he was frozen out of his MyBitcoin account after they went offline shortly after Mt. Gox.  He tried emailing many times, and never got a response.  He only had about 25BTC there but it's gone for good.

It's water under the bridge at this point.  MyBitcoin screwed a lot more people than most think.  The claim forms don't help anything if you were locked out of your account after the hack and any requests for help to access it again were ignored.  Supposedly that was done as a safety measure after the Mt. Gox hack, to protect users who had the same pw on MyBitcoin, but there is so much BS to sift through to try to get the real story that it's not worth the time.  Not for me anyway, I never had any BTC there.

Good luck, but don't get your hopes up.

I had a balance with mybitcoin.

I filed the username and password reclaim and sent to securecoin.

Before the site reported something like 100 coins, down from 200. Now it says

"This account has a balance of 0. There is no need to file a claim. If you have already filed a claim you can disregard this error."

But no coins have turned up.

Darn shame I don't know my original bitcoin address on mybitcoin!

I'm sorry you're probably not going to get your bitcoins back. But on the other hand, if there are a few of you who can't remember your passwords or don't show up for the coins, perhaps "Tom Williams" will let the rest of the victims who remember their details split up the coins.  I doubt very much that will happen (I have my own suspicions about them being scamming asshats) but it would be nice if it did.

I bet they will not provide you with your password so that you can't file your claim, that's bad.

How did you login in the past if you do not know your password? Im assuming you had it saved. If so then look at the browsers key chain. Example in firefox you can find it in Security -> Saved Passwords.

Hi Guys,

So I'm trying to file my claim with MyBitcoin and I ran into a snag. I know my username, but I don't know my password. The site isn't providing any way for me to request a password reset. How can I file my claim??

Thanks!
