If you are in hurry, you don't really need to wait for Mycelium developers to fix the problem. Mycelium is a non-custodial wallet and gives you the Mnemonic phrase (a list of 12 words).
For exporting your Mnemonic phrase, tap on "Create Backup" at top of the screen.
You can import the Mnemonic phrase into other wallets like myetherwallet.

Warning:
- Importing the seed on an online computer can be risky. It's more safe to do this offline. (Click here to read the guide.)
- Import your seed into myetherwallet only if you understand what you are doing.

There is an answer on the Google play store when you check the reviews of the Mycelium wallet app.
Many are complaining about the issue and the dev.team is responding that they are trying to fix it ASAP this gives me the impression that they haven't given up on fixing the issue.
See one response below.

I have a small amount stuck there and it's not crucial but I understand the frustration that this situation brings to the people.

Hello, I have the same problem, How do you know that a solution is being developed? ? Support mycelium is not responding, after one topic on github and reedit I can not find any more mentions on this topic, people give as a solution entering the phrase seed into another wallet, e.g. Exodus, but in my case it does not work, I also have other tokens on my mycelium erc20.

I'm not sure if thats the correct section to post since the issue is with ETH wallet not the BTC one but since this is the official Mycelium app section I'll give it a try, the mods have the final word.

I found some Eth on my old phone with mycelium so I tried to moved them out of there to a Trustwallet one but I got an transaction error saying the following

Seems like I'm not the only one who has the same problem.

The team is working on to fix the issue so if you have any locked funds because of this error it's just a matter of time to get a fix.
