you need to increase the gap limit in electrum. if you are using 2.9.3 then go to view menu > show console. Switch to the console tab and type this there:
Close electrum and run it again. The addresses gear generated should now show up.
If this problem happens again in future you should increase the gap limit further. But don't increase it too much or your wallet will get slow. 200 should be the max.

Yup this is the most likely thing happening right now with the OP, OP are you still seeing your balance? Or the balance has gone missing too? If the balance has gone missing then there is some weird issue going on with your gadget. Btw you don't have to worry about seeing the addresses if you control your wallet you have nothing to worry about.
