Hello,

I am currently storing BTC in a MyCelium wallet downloaded on an Apple iPhone.

My wallet is currently unable to refresh.

The prices linked to Bitcoin exchanges are not updated as there usually do, and every time I attempt to refresh my wallet manually I get the message "Error: Can't synchronize the account. Try again later."

I've seen this error previously but those times I was still able to process transactions through the wallet. I'm currently unable to process any transactions into or out of my wallet.

This error began occurring about 4 hours ago and has not corrected itself. Anyone have advice on how I can resolve this error and access the BTC I have stored in my wallet?

Thanks

This is most probably because you are using an outdated version of Mycelium. Just try to "Update" the Mycelium app through Appstore and then sync the wallet again.
After updating the app the issue should resolve by itself and if it doesn't then go to Account tab and then click on the Refresh from the menu.
If the issue persists you can email the support team at "[email protected]" .

I am using the version 3.8.9.1 and it's working well.

I'm anxious to delete and restore using my seed phrase just yet.

You don't need to.
Updating the application does not erase the user data.

I've been reading reviews of the app in the app store and quite a bit of them are indidivuals complaining that they restored their MyCelium wallet using their pass phrase and their bitcoin balance inside the restored app was now zero.

Those reviews are most likely from people who failed at backing up their mnemonic code properly.

I have quite a bit of BTC in this wallet and don't necessarily want to do anything too quickly (although I know that restoring from the pass-phrase is objectively the correct thing to do in this case).

In this case, you might want to make a backup of your current wallet.
I guess you are aware of the risks storing crypto on a mobile wallet as opposed to a desktop- or hardware wallet?

I've had errors with MyCelium in the past and they have usually self-corrected, and have been able to find a few individuals today who had a smiliar problem. Still troubleshooting with them.

This might also be the case now.
If you aren't in a hurry, just wait a day or two. If you are in a hurry, use your mnemonic code to restore your wallet on your desktop system (e.g. via electrum).

Do you have the latest version of mycelium wallet running on your iPhone? Also how about the iOS your iPhone is using, is it updated? Try to make sure all these are intact. Try to delete and restore the wallet using your seed phrase and see if it works.

I am running the most recent version of iOS on my iPhone. I don't believe I'm running the most recent version of the wallet but it's among the most recent versions.

I tried switching from WiFi to cellular data and no had no luck, still unable to sync. Thanks for the response though!

I got advised by someone else to try restoring my wallet to a different phone but am going to wait a bit before doing that. I contacted [email protected] but am skeptical they will get back to me. I've run into sync issues in the past but generally they resolved themselves relatively quickly if I remember correctly.

I had this about the same time, I switched over to mobile data and it seemed to synchronise. You could try that (it won't take much data to sync afaik but I'm still not sure why that worked for me)...
