It's good that MEW developers pay attention to similar things, it helps some to save money.

Please be warned! MyEtherWallet has published some news about a phishing attack.
A mail claims you should do KYC to receive some Airdrop tokens from "MyEtherTrust" and the design is like MyEtherWallet. Ignore this, it's a scam!

NEVER share your private keys for Airdrops or KYC!!, better get out of there.

The real site is https://www.myetherwallet.com/
Make sure it looks like this:

Only fools would be fooled by this site. If you are using myetherwallet then there is a great difference in name. Myethertrust and myetherwallet is not the same but when you check the design it may be similar but it's not myetherwallet. Read one of the replies here that mention bookmarking the mew will be a goid decision to do.

MyEtherWallet phishing sites or phishing sites in general is definitely not new. Though them actually trying to get your KYC information? Probably to potentially steal your identity for potentially social engineering hacks is something else. A pinned topic on phishing sites should be placed here in the beginner's section.

I strongly advise using Cryptonite by MetaCert and bookmarks!
MetaCert is a Chrome plugin that warns you if you get redirected to a phishing site. In addition MetaMask, a hardware wallet and/or an offline version of MyEtherWallet.

There is also a Telegram group: https://t.me/metacert

NEVER ever use only the private key/json file. This will get you most likely scammed/phished and remember: once an address is compromised, you'll never be able to use it again without risking all your assets!
