I was very pleased at first when i found this thread in this naija local board and then i was still a newbie as of last year contest, then i was praying to meet up the requirements of the contest but before the contest could reach 25 of December i was able to reach the requirements but i can't still post a pictures of my dish but as time goes on i moved from newbie to junior member then that is when i started posting my dish, it was not that easy on me as newbie that time and I'm very happy to see that I'm moving gradually and i can't never stop to learn from all moderators here in this naija local board God will keep you as we await for the upcoming contest and i know that this upcoming contest will surely make a different from the previous ones.

At the very least, I was pleased the locale had a contest, it was executed in the best possible way and results were drawn out. I see it to be a step towards the right direction. Though, the results would not always be satisfactory to a lot of users, there would always be those that wouldn’t be so pleased with some of the outcome as against others and for this I would say, it’s entirely by the judges which are not really known here. No one would judge with another user’s eyes or ideas. What is appealing to one in this regard might not be appealing to the other and I think how traditional your methods are with this being a display of our cultural heritage was something I admire of some contestants and this might not count for others.

Even then, the contest is the first of its kind, I’m sure going forward, we would find best means and approaches to our troubles and criticism. I beacon on the rest of you that would find fourth to present it in a respectful and suggestive manner for best means when we have the need for a contest. Kindly relax the provocation and congrats to the winners and team behind this.

Oga moderator you have just spoken as a father that want the progress of his family members, I'm really proud of being a member of this naija local board and how we support each other's, i know that dere is always disagreement but will show not allow that to come between us because we are all brothers and one family to help each others, i really found this thread as a fun forum that gives the chance to display our talents base in the food contest that i can't wait to participate once the time comes again.

I don't know what you @Agbe and @Mia are up to However, both of you can express your thoughts without using inappropriate language or making false allegations. This is a local board, thus everything we do must reflect our culture and the type of people we are. I don't care what you do on the general board, but the local board has strict rules against personal and nasty attacks.

I wouldn't want to start moderating the opinion on this thread but if the personal attack continues I will be forced to lock this thread.

Is be while i post anything in this thread because i was moving from one event to another this year, i I'm very happy to be among the last contest and i can't never regret in participating and congratulations to the 5 winners, i can't wait for another contest to start because the moderator make a right choice in selecting the winner of the 2024/2025 contest.

I think you are over reacting mate, you don't need to sound like this, I mean na you organize the contest and you get every jurisdiction to do whatever pleases or choose the winners but when someone ask question or feel you no do am well na to just reply as you been dey do wen the contest dey go on.

Omo reading this your comment, I was really disappointed because this reply shows or tell if una two get grudge with each other, if there is any advice I would add na to just avoid any drama for here like take for example the way Mr brainboss address the issue and answered the question, I mean response like that for no even stir up hate comments like this. Also @agbe we know say you are making enquiry but going directly to speak with boldness about how the competition was not done right is also not a good way to go about making enquiry on transparency, it's also shows some level of hate ... Please we all na one and let's work together and strengthen this board.

Honestly, all these drama no really Dey necessary, the contest don come and E don go, person wey host contest don choose how E Dey am good for body so I no see wetin come Dey bring all this ones. Assuming say E get where the forum don already slat how these kyn contests supposed be when it comes to deciding the winners and then the Organizer(s) come go do another thing, or if the accuser get solid evidence and fact to backup him claim, then we fit look into the matter and see whether na actually rigging or not, but in this case, nothing like that happen, so Abeg make we do the calms.

The only thing wey pain me for this contest na say, upon all the effort I put for that my Nkwobi, I no still win . But nothing spoil sha, another day fit Dey, if at all.

I saw all this dramas and the thread at midnight but I honestly don't know what to say even till now because am just surprised.

If I can remember properly, I ones participated in an art contest last year and I wasn't among the winnings but I was not bothered to ask or create any thread for it asking how they judge or finalize the winners because I know the judges didn't the right thing.
So new let's just focus on the future and not the past. Mia didn't the right thing, the winners deserves their rewards.

I was expecting him to at least say something but the guy pissed me off. I think thinked twice to delete that thread because I didn't want a drama with anything in the local board again. And I asked him because after submitting the various entries from various participants, he collated the qualified dishes and the next thing we see was announcement of winners so that process need to be questioned. It doesn't actually, it wasn't a community vote but a panel of judges vote that decided the winner. Community vote aren't always the best way to choose a winner for a contest like this because favouritism will always be in the picture. For this contest, I can tell you the voting process was free and fair. I know you were expecting some dishes to be selected and then public votes gets casted but we all know how that would have ended.

Again understand that the presenter of the contest has the right to choose the way the winner is to be announced and please you guys should stop calling eachother names and throwing accusations that have no strong evidence around (I'm referring to you too Mia Chole). Looking at the winners and the dishes they prepared, you shouldn't have any doubt that the winners were picked with no bias.

Why does our own thing has to be different at all times? Last time i checked there was rules applied to the food context only those who follow the rules will be judged upon if they win or not. I participated in the food contest as well, the result came out and everything was fair. Nobody who participated in the food context complained that it was rigged or not. @Agbe you did not participated in the context or did you? It now seem obvious that you have been waiting for a time like this to see the outcome and lay your accusation.

I expect this kind of contest to repeat itself because it brought attention to the Nigerian board and proved, aside from the opportunity to showcase our meals, that Nigerians can also be creative in cooking.

I don't want to put my mouth on local issues again unless I came to make comments to contribute what I know and left. But this your contest has dragged me to know some questionable characters. I saw some comments and I also personally checked the method of data analysis for the selection of the winners. It is not really transparent because I didn't see where it is mentioned that the judges brought the usernames for you to announce. I didn't even see the names of the judges. Please can you explain how it was done to douse some tensions. Things like this need 💯 transparency as we can see it in the forum. I have won a contest in the forum and the process was clear for everyone to see in the forum. As you can see voting is going on in the forum and it is transparent. And I don't know how this has been done.

This contest is really a good one I congratulate those that wins because I know too well that in a contest everyone will not win despite my intention is to win. This really enlightened many that African has way of preparing their dishes despite that the contest did not give room for all dish any one can prepare because I see that people with rice is mostly selected, though stand to be corrected congratulations once more.

I really enjoyed seeing Nigerian dishes that various people had taken the time to prepare and then share the photos with us, specially those who had clearly put some effort into their work.

I'm overwhelmed with happiness for wining this contest but however I want to sincerely thank the host of this entertainment being @Mia Chloe for giving each and everyone the opportunity to showcase our individual Nigerian way of cooking. Ever since i joined Bitcointalk and i came to release that Nigerian has their own separate thread i was glad to see myself here on this naija local board and come to the business or topic on this thread is like the moderator didn't make officially announced the day they are going to announce the 5 winners in this thread, i will advise that we should keep the thread moving and also make this naija local board moving forward.
I'm also looking forward on this year contest in how it will look like and i can't wait to participate in the upcoming contest.

I no even see why people dey even urge themselves anyhow, the contest itself na volunteer work and nobody send the Op e just do am for the love and the spirit of the festive period and also atleast e dey even give our local board a huge recognition and reputation when it comes to standard so whether e use any means judge make we all dey okay and understand say na him get contest and will do everything in the fairness of everyone and beside e don talk say very soon na judging go start by top naija member  so na to wait and see the outcome of the results.

Well you have spoken well but I don't see anything bad if he decides to get judges from outside this board or even if he decides to make judgement by himself, usually everyone within their choices and if you have 4-7 judges they must come out with different results and for that it would be that hard for them to go into final conclusion to pick winners but if results are being evaluated by one person it's that easy for him t give his view towards whom is the rightful winner.

Something like this we don't need to attached so much meaning to it, but at least let the fun counts because if guess correctly almost all the dishes that was submitted here weren't a waste rather they all are their foods it was just a picture they uploaded here so to me I suggest we should mellow out anger and interest.

How you go call men for outside this board to come judge Nigerian food contest. You forget say dem na eye they go use judge not based on the quality and finishing. Naija man na him suppose judge this thing but sometimes even our own judging ah no no how e they be. Also ah no go they in support if we the community make vote because obviously na cartel cartel go they do the voting.

I want to believe that Mia Chloe who started this contest will not allow anything favoritism or sentimental act to take place. He has everything planned so i will trust his decision on this.

the only two option @Mia chloe get na either call men from outside board to judge this matter or him alone go select by himself. because as almost every body for the local board don participate for this contest, e go hard to select judges here wey go make fair judgement as the last contest come out argument between the judges and many been no dey satisfied by the results. if this contest no go well i think next year if this contest come again people go lose interest.

I have not seen any post that shown that there is a problem of knowing the 5 winners of this great contest so l will surely advise to all my fellow contesters that we should not be in a hurry to conclude on how they should choose the winners, i believe that the moderator knows what he is actually doing so let be calm and watch when the 5 winners will finally announce to us. I'm glad in participating on this contest once again, congratulations to the 5 winners in advance.

What are the evaluations process Mia Chloe or we can vote the for the contest? To me it's good you give your judgement because everyone would want to vote for themselves as almost everyone on the local board participated on this contest except external people would have to come vote for those who anticipated for the contest. Thank you for everything you have done so far, it's not easily working tirelessly make sure everything went well as planned.

I don see lots of great foods already, make I drop location make person find me small choppings as I dey H like this.
On a more serious note they all look lovely and I am certain everyone put in hundred percent effort into this and this is a joke going by how difficult I find cooking but definitely I would make something to my best abilities in the next event.
