And the fake one no also get space where them put for forgotten password wey customer supposed click on if him forget him password and wan recover am.

The way these boys for the street don the wan outsmart those wey the run legit hustle the tin the scare me oh. I no dey even near ads link again for internet site cos person fit no know when him go just enter one chance.

I no just understand why dem no fit use this brain wey dem dey use do illegal hustle use am run beta legit innovation for the internet than misappropriating their effort into wrong venture

E dey clear for people wey dey vigilant all the time. Some people no dey pay attention to site name and link at all. E get some site wey dey request user to log in to their payment platform to make payment. Me sef Don ever come across such site wey ask me to input my banking login details to proceed to make payment and I quickly japa from that site. I dey try to recall the site now but I no fit remember again because e don tey small. E make sense as he raise the alarm.


When they say we Nigerians are talented wetin we you dey think before  the thing be say our talent dey mostly come out in negative ways. Our problem is bad system wey no dey empower our youth with the talent wey we get and na why some are using it in a bad way.

No be lie say, downloading from approved website na one of the best means, na them go redirect you go the correct one for playstore or AppStore. Mind you, Playstore no too sure like that. There means to verifying legitimacy of sites no tight and even for playstore, you fit still download wahala for yourself kwa.
Also, Opay no Dey operate one app alone, them get plenty names and versions to ram and that na another means to create confusion for customers.

Because pay scam is not only in phishing attempt but also cut across another type of scam attempt,  what I will advise Bitcoin traders or any other cryptocurrency traders is that,  use only the mobile app from the play store to access your Opay account and stop using the website,  because websites can easily be cloned.

If the perpetrators behind all of these scams can channel their creativity into something productive. They can use the same brain to make something that Nigerians will use. Just the other day one called me at about 7am telling me that he's UBA customer care agent. He was so foolish that he didn't know that that was too early to call an customer and besides no UBA customer care will call you.

Well back to the gist, before we click on a link for any Bank you have to double check it because they clone websites and you wouldn't even know when your information is copied from the back end.

I don't know for others oh, but just a mere look at the url of the website, a normal person is supposed to know that such site is not legit, because ever since I started using Opay and seen lots of persons using it, I doubt if people have ever gone to Google in search of Opay instead of Playstore where we always install the app, register and start making transactions. So in situation like this, I think when people ask questions in area where they have little or no knowledge about it, it helps them from falling victim to fraud, which is a habit I go like make every newbie inculcate both on and off this forum.

Diz one nah cuz nah cheap clone site, eh get some of this clone sites dem way dy 4 net way be say if u no look well u no go fit easily notice say the site nah fake, you go see everything wan become identical even this .buzz, .game, .fun, .money.  way u go carry easily identify say no be the real site no go they visible, even the appearance some of them they sabi build am to dy nearly perfect. Opay is one of the accounts that bitcoin and other crypto buyers and sellers are using among us. This is because the transactions are very fast.

I check the time the site domain name was created and it is two months and a weeks and some days ago. The site need to be reported.


This is nice. You have tried enough. But in case of next time, you need to be careful because some sites may contain malware. But if you do not give your device permission to download automatically and if you use another device and you format or reinstall its OS after finding out, I think you are safe. By looking at the site, it is clear that it is a scam site.

Sending money from same bank to same bank would be fast, even on other banks too.

Phishing scam no be today e don dey, it been long this type of scam has been existing but there have been another dimensional rise on how different people clone website to scam people. One of my friend been inform me until I tested it out and as crypto people like to they use Opay make payment because of the free transaction and charges, na him I say make I share this new scam update wey boys they use scam people.

Scammers don they clone website wey dy be like original website but in the real sense, no be the real one, no be only for a particular payment platform, na across all but the one wey I see na Opay. The scammers clone a similar website wey be like say na OPAY but if you are use to the original platform, you go know say no be true but some people wey no sabi the difference  betweeb the original and the fake they fall for them.

This one, na the original website of Opay payment platform be this and from the look of the design, e clear but that one no mean say another scammer no fit do this perfect job, just dy at at aleart before you login.




This one na the scammer screenshot from image be this, e dy slightly different from the original Opay website but the scammer do am in a way wey person wey no eye clear go fall for am, because he will ask for a mobile number and password which from his back end, him go copy and come use am for the real app and the funny thing be say, e go behave like say you dy Opay true true, it will request for the OTP which he go dun request from him end and meanwhile you don't know that he is the one that requested for it and that is how they will have access to your account balance.



I test run one fake number and 6 random numbers as password and na wetin the website request be this, they will ask for you for OTP after you input your login details(mobile number and password) and the scammer used it on his end to request for OTP and that is how scammer go enter your account.

Key things to they observe from this payment platforms so as not to fall victim:
1) Always login on the app downloaded from the playstore or Apple store, them fit clone another fake app too but do well, to detect the original easy.
2) Always avoid unnecessary links
3) The website links they get funny funy domains like .buzz, .game, .fun, .money. You know why because to register these kind domain no dy cost and e cheap to maintain like the .com and most like fit no they available for purchase and if e dy, e go cost for them
4)Avoid to they enter giveaway places, na from there them dy drop this fake links and website for people to enter.
5) Know that this is not limited to only Opay, e they happen to all other digital banking platforms like Kuda, Palmpay and many others.
