-snip-

I don't know if the invoice URL will work in another wallet but it works on Electrum desktop.

They have a list of supported wallets: https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005701523-Which-wallets-work-for-a-BitPay-payment-Which-wallets-are-compatible-

For anyone interested in knowing more about BIP70. Here is a good explanatory post/video: http://redd.it/a1hnfx

I think it's good news to read. Yes, 4-6 months is long period of time, but it's better later than never.
Back in November during Black Friday promotion I wanted to buy one hosting plan using Bitcoin payment option. And I experienced how bad BitPay is. So, when I will have to renew my subscription, I hope that BTCpayserver will be implemented already.
Because you need to use their payment protocol (through the URL/QR, which is only supported in a few wallets) and can’t get the address and amount to pay manually (at least not without doing some request tricks or using a 3rd party tool like the above).
I experienced this thing and there was a lot hassle to pay through BitPay. I even wanted to give up and make payment by card, but somehow I managed to make payment. But I hope that I will not have to reapeat this experience Cheesy

That's the catch. You can't copy BTC Address from Bitpay payment interface. The only solution is either you scan the QR code or paste the payment url in wallet compatible with BitPay link. I think they made the gateway like this so to force the people into joining BitPay.

I experienced some issue on how to pay bitpay before last November because they shows me only QR code but when I click the URL they redirect me to my old Electrum wallet which is not my current wallet.

What I did is to copy the URL from the payment gateway then just paste it on "pay to" under the send tab on my current Electrum wallet. After paste, it will turn to Bitpay URL including the amount they ask.

I don't know if the invoice URL will work in another wallet but it works on Electrum desktop.

I am quite curious about this issue, why do you call it the catch? What happens when we scan a QR code or paste a payment url into it? Are there any tricks here? I don't understand why you call it the catch  Cry

That’s all lol. You sounded like a scarred children when someone told them they are grounded. Don’t worry too much.

If you're not using a BIP70 compatible wallet, there is a workaround: https://alexk111.github.io/DeBitpay/

Just paste the URL there, and you'll be given the address and the amount. (I'm not affiliated with them nor I have checked the source code).

Good decisions ever taken by Namecheap CEO, I have bad experience with namecheap bitcoin payment methods. I had to made deposit on namecheap some reason (just for help someone else). I were surprised after see their deposit system and fees. Fee is too high during transaction from Bitpay. And by forced I had to use Bitpay since Namecheap redirected to Bitpay wallet. I don't know why such as good brand using Bitpay for their payment system.

If they really use BTCPay server, then I believe more users will encourage to pay via bitcoin on their platform and their sell would increase more. So changing payment processor to BTCPay is a right decision right now.
You had to use Bitpay's wallet? I think you missed something, you could click on continue as a guest, copy the address and send the requested amount from any wallet.

Guys don't call me crazy, not 4-6 months but it's maybe max 4-6 hours of work to integrate btcpayserver. So I am curious what kind of tons of prioritizes do they have to release before payment integration? Where they writing these prioritizes before even founding namecheap? I have no idea why their IT technicians don't have 4-6 hour time in six month period to integrate payment system.

It looks like bitcoin payments aren't being used that quickly for them to actually prioritize it. Seriously, BitPay is total cancer.

With that said, 4-6 months is a pretty long time. But I guess the CEO only mentioned that long of a timespan just to be safe.

It's a niche type of payment option. I'm pretty sure that whatever people pump through ShitPay's gateway doesn't even account for 1% of Namecheap's total revenue. In that regard, I do not blame them for taking their time. It will also force them to sign up to an exchange to sell their coins on. From the convenience that ShitPay offers to manual control of payments. I respect that.

I honestly don't even find it a bad thing that ShitPay adds more altcoins to its portal, because that immediately lowers the utility of BCash. Listing more altcoins is a firm sign of Roger and Bitmain losing faith in their shitcoin. They did their best to block altcoins but have realized that no one is interested in what they have spent so much time and money on shilling.

I can't wait to top up my Namecheap account with Lightning instantly.  Grin

In a new update on the response to a question about BTCpayserver use to make crypto payments on Namecheap, Richard Kirkendall (NamecheapCEO) answer was:

Quote
I gave the go ahead to implement BTCpayserver to our payment team but they have a backlog of work. That being said, If I had to give a timeline, it should be ready in 4-6 months.

Source ---> https://twitter.com/NamecheapCEO/status/1209133453364609024

It is really good to stay away from central services like BitPay (BCH, XRP FUD,) + We'll see some payments using lightning technology.

As for the reason for delaying all this time, the answer was: It's called priorities.
