This put Namecheap on top of their game and the preferred choice of webmasters, and developers other domain registrar should follow Namecheap's lead there's a big market to conquer in the Cryptocurrency industry they should be aware of this.

No wonder Namecheap is the preferred choice of Cryptocurrency related webmaster,

To be totally fair, take out the cryptocurrency payments out of Namecheap, and I'd personally still use it. It's simply that great and seamless. Only downside is that their app sucks last time I checked; though it's no biggie.

I may sound like a total Namecheap sponsor but trust me I'm not

I decided to buy a domain in name silo, and it was much cheaper and I was able to buy it using bitcoin. I am very satisfied and it was much cheaper.
I guess it depends? My domain costs $3 more per year on Namesilo. I also paid less in the first year (just $1.8 on Namecheap vs $3 on Namesilo).

i agree, it depends. It is worth checking both.
My domain was way cheaper in namesilo.

examplens said he had a bad experience in namecheap, that they offered a very high price to renew his domain so he moved to namesilo.

I didn't notice this I have a bad experience of using Bitpay before on depositing Bitcoin it takes a day before you can able to spend. So, let's see if there is a difference if I'm going to use the BTCpay. I just waiting for the black Friday deal promo for my domain and hosting renewal.

And you can get more big discounts and promo on NameCheap every black Friday & Cyber Monday, unlike Namesilo they only give you small discounts from their promotion.

Have you guys checked namesilo?

I decided to buy a domain in name silo, and it was much cheaper and I was able to buy it using bitcoin. I am very satisfied and it was much cheaper.

It is worth taking a look
I have heard about namesilo and in fact I was thinking to have their service but I think for some reason I did not take them. Namecheap looked better for me.

The entire ides is I guess the brand awareness. I believe namecheap are bigger and in the business for longer than namesilo, and they have established a fine line of trust that big companies are staying for longer time or something. So for me, going with namecheap was the choice after godaddy and hostgator.

My first company was Godaddy then I moved to hostgator but now I have nothing with those because they do not have BTC payment option.

No wonder Namecheap is the preferred choice of Cryptocurrency related webmaster, even scammers are using this domain registrar I'm looking forward to buy a domain here, another great thing about Namecheap is, they are the only domain registrar with a lot of available extensions and if you are lucky you can get a domain as low as $1.

Good news. I guess this must be a better option than bitpay now, had a recent issue with them. Waiting for a very long time to reflect the amount to namecheap even though there's lot of confirmation already, I at least wait more than 6 hours. Good thing I always topup days before the expiration of my host/domain/ssl there for auto-renew.

Perfect!
Thanks for the heads up. My hosting and domains are due for renew in two months. Last time I used BitPay on Namecheap to pay for the charges. But BTCPay is better and fulfills the true essence of being a bitcoin merchant. I will top-up a day before.

Farewell LEO: o_e_l_e_o
Why so much hate around BCH? It's clear in how shady ways Roger tries to popularize bitcoin and other important details but just take it easy and skip.
This hate is similar of: Hey, Christiano Ronaldo is bad, stupid player, Leo Messi is the best, visca barca. While in reality none of them are bad.
While CR and Messi both are legend, if anyone say CR is bad or stupid player then he has mistaken and has issues with him. But I do not think the example fits in the case of BCH shit. It's an altcoin and I have no problem if Ver starts promoting it by saying it's an altcoin.

Problem is Ver wants people to call his shit altcoin the real bitcoin, what a petty! He is even scamming new users in the space by saying his shit is bitcoin and new users are buying it without realizing that they are buying shit alt. Later they realize they bought a coin which does not have enough hash power and those DeFi shits are better than this BCH shit. They then sell the alt and buy Bitcoin but by that time the price of this shitcoin fallen down and the newbie user lose his money.

Do you see my point now?

Stop protecting this shitcoin, better talk to Ver and ask him to make things right. Bitcoin Cash is not Bitcoin. Call it altcoin.

No one would particularly hate on BCH if their community stopped scamming users indirectly by making them purchase BCH thinking it's BTC.

If they really believed in their technology, they would get another name instead of hijacking Bitcoin's brand to get the newbies' money.
Thanks for simplifying it.

Except Cristiano doesn't say he is the "real Messi".

Very true! BCH is scamming people if they are intentionally letting people think that they are buying bitcoin, but they are not.
And most people that fall to their trick are newbies. Because they don't know yet the difference of btc and bch.
If they can rename their coin without bitcoin attached to it, that would be appreciated.

But talking about this development, really good to know that namecheap is improving their services.
I have few domain names under namecheap also, so would be easy to pay now with crypto.

Indeed they do have the option now. I just logged in to my account to check it.

~snip~

Finally, I can get rid of the BCH shills to push me with the high fees for BTC and indirectly is asking to pay with BCH which I do not have any though.

Good news, i'll consider Namecheap if i ever plan to buy domain or/and rent a VPS. They should announce about new payment processor at their blog and social media though, since i don't see any.
Have been using Namecheap for 3 years for their domains and haven't had a single problem as of yet.

Same here. I would definitely recommend them for buying domains. Not sure I'd choose them for hosting though, Vultr is a way better alternative for that.
Namecheap has great prices and the most amazing support in hosting industry. For hosting performance and prices, I found Hetzner pretty good.

Btw very nice news, we already had some discussion in old thread where this news was announced but what's the most amazing - finally it happened and namecheap did great job.

Finally - this is the best word here. Great news! Before this, Namecheap users who wanted to pay with Bitcoin didn't had other options than use shitty BitPay.
I remember that I wanted to buy hosting plan on Namecheap last year, during Black Friday discounts. I struggled a lot because I didn't had Bitcoins on any BitPay compatible wallet and they didn't allowed to simply send BTC to payment address. So, then I thought - F*ck this shit and then simply paid using debit card. Good to hear that next time when I will use Namecheap, I will be able to spend my BTC Cheesy.

Funnily enough, my first venture to the blogging world was also using the Namecheap + Vultr setup lmao. Simply because Vultr was one of the services I've took a look at early on that accepted BTC. Unfortunately though, Vultr is still using BitPay. Like fuck damnit Vultr.

As for an announcement, it was just a tweet from their CEO(@NamecheapCEO), and a retweet from their official Twitter account(@namecheap). Better than nothing, I guess.

I don't see why Bitpay has to have its own special addresses formatting, because at least for me, I don't pay attention to the human-readable names, just the address directly.
They provide a lot of good solutions to customers and a lot of the transactions are done through direct transfer to a bank account, so many use their services. These features are ideal for those who want to focus on profits and do not care much about cryptocurrencies in return for their profits.

It has been completed since it was announced in that tweet so it will take some time.

I've just tried it and I'm not sure from where (or how) does BTCPay pulls the 'recommended fees' that they're displaying on the payment page but it seems like they're overestimating it (unless it's done on purpose).
Perhaps the most important factor in recommending fees is time, not amount of money paid out.

Tried it just an hour ago. They're definitely overestimating the fees, recommending me 44.5sats/b even when I checked fee estimators and 15sats/b would suffice(used 25sats/b instead just to be sure and it pretty much confirmed in less than half an hour).

With that said, the fee recommendation is of course not the reason why I prefer BTCPay.

So if you ever use them, make sure to double check the recommended fees from one of these sites[1][2] if you want to save some money.

Freakin finally. I'm a happy user of Namecheap and their BitPay bitcoin payment option is pretty much the only thing I hate about their platform. Hopefully other services could follow suit so I could stop converting BTC to USD just to pay for stuff online.

EDIT: just tried it. feels good.

P.S. Fuck BitPay

Up to now I had to use a proxy to access Bitpay when I wanted to pay for any service using it as their payment processor. Also, their custom payment addresses and requests exclude paying with bitcoin in obscure wallets. I don't see why Bitpay has to have its own special addresses formatting, because at least for me, I don't pay attention to the human-readable names, just the address directly.

Although they promised to replace Bitpay by April and June, it was already a few days ago.

I still think you can't pay with the lightning network, but it might happen soon.
(They still think it's risky for small transactions but things change quickly.)
