Hello,

I'm using a Mac with Parallels Windows 7 virtual machine on it. Namecoin wallet is only for Windows so far.

Too bad I didn't back up and properly protect my Namecoin wallet. I just ignored it. And a few days ago I've caught a trojan/virus from a "bitcoin market analysis" webiste ("cryptonewsonline"). Boy was I stupid running an unknown executable file. What was I thinking?

Now, after launching the Namecoin QT I have a completely new wallet with 0 NMCs. The old one is lost.

I thought my virtual machine was backed up by Time Machine, but found out that "do not back up my virtual machine" option is turned on by default in Parallels!

OK. There goes the last chance: But I had a few ".bit" domains registered. Maybe one could find the thief or the stolen Namecoins knowing the domains?

Anyone help?

There's nothing you can do really. Just learn from the lesson and always encrypt and backup your wallets.

The thief is promoting this on facebook:

"Management at Cryptonewsonline
Lives in Hialeah, Florida"

"Richard Curry
We developed a tool that predicts bitcoin/altcoin lowpoints (crashes).
It calculates how much the coin will go down and when it will happen.
If you like our work, please buy us a beer, preferably in bitcoin. ^^"

There are many ways of tracing transactions. There are no ways of canceling or reversing them.
sorry to hear you got robbed.
I fortunately, have a really bad habit of backing up files ect. cant ever have too many.
