This happened because of the market crash and not because Nano is a special coin. Even ETH was at the point where it was worth 1400 USD, several months later, it was around 80 USD per coin. The most important lesson is to buy on the falling market and to sell on bullish.

Did lot of ppl here got it at 3 cents and then able to sell it at over 30 dollars.  That is insane.  Buying 10000 of it only cost 300 dollars.  That would be over 300k.  So if someone bought 3000 dollars worth of 100000, that would been over 3 million dollars...
Thats not insane buddy if Nano was already listed in 2017 -2018 bullrun $30 dollars is very possible because im notice in that particular period all crypto's are going crazy pumping even the so called shitcoins are also pumping at that time even my few bucks holdings of ICO tokens are also quadruple in value. I think theres nothing wrong on CoinmarketCap data its just shown the details in that particular period.

Can you tell me what type of work this was?  When you say captcha work.. you don't mean the captcha captions you get on a site right like when you click on them to go to a site etc?  Or is that what you mean?

Can you tell me exactly what year and month this was at?  So if you got 1000 of them and its worth 12 cent... then ppl just sell them for 100 dollar usd etc?

So at one point you got 50000 raiblocks back then?  How much did you sell them each for on average?  Man so when it went up to 10 dollars, you had no more of it?  So when it was 30 dollars... that mean had you kept your 50000 raiblocks, that would been 1.5 million dollars?

This happens way back 2016 this is their announcement thread
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annxrbcryptocurrencys-killer-app-raiblocks-micropayments-1381323
probably one of the most popular topic that year, 2016 and 2017 were the years where great projects in the cryptocurrency are launched

Mrais are being distributed by captchas back then, all you have to is to complete captchas and you will be rewarded with MRAIS anywhere from 300 to 600 Mrais, with so many workers coming in they, reduce it to 50 to 100 Mrais and you can sell your mrais from 30 satoshis to 100 satoshis back then.

I only have myself to blame for selling my coins at a very cheap price I even hire people to do captcha for me, the highest MRAI/NANO I accumulated was 50000, there was no exchange back then we just do peer to peer, everybody thought this coin has a very good potential in the market in the future.

But I never thought that the price can reach as high as $30, I only know that it will triple but not to an insane price, it's really hard to look at its price now and to think that you have something that you blew away, I could have been a part of a great story in Cryptocurrency.

Right now I'm accumulating Banano it's a fork of MRAI and hoping there's a repeat of the story.

How easy/hard was it to get the raiblocks for free back then?  Was it hard to get say 1000 of them for free around the time?
The faucet had a captcha, limiting the number of Nano you could get per hour.Nevertheless, you could easy get 100 Nano every day with some boring hours of work. Therefore, getting 1000 of them was pretty easy, the hard part was to not sell it right away at 0.12$ as no one could predict it will skyrocket that high.

So basically ppl got nano for free back then?
Yes.

Would you say lots of ppl made a ton of money from nano?  <...>  I mean 1 cent to over 30 dollar at one point is ridiculous.
Yes, a lot of people made a ton of money basically for free, but there is also people who lost a lot of money either they bought at 30-ish$ just before the price collapsed or because of the exchange hack.

But the price was ever decreasing and the coin was near forgotten when they rejuvenated with new name and aggressive listing on exchanges. Binance was not the first one but that listing provided them a good boost.
Raiblocks rebranded to  Nano not because it was almost forgotten, only because it is a better name for adoption. Moreover, listing in exchanges didn't have much effect in term of price, probably because 12 million Nano got dumped because of the hack.

I recalled nano pumped up to 37 dollars at one point.  On coinmarketcap, it was less than 1 cent when it came out.  After a few days, it went to 10 cents or so.

What i want to know is... when was nano available to buy?  Was it on the first date that is shown on coinmarketcap?

Is there a way to know what exchange offered nano which i know was called raiblocks back then when it first started out?  Did binance offered nano at the beginning?  Or only after a certain time and if so, anyone know when this occurred so i could look at the price it was available at?

I ask this because if someone say bought 100000 nano at 0.01 each which is 1000 usd.  And they held it to the point to where it pumped to over 30 dollars... then sold it all... well they would have made over 300k usd profit...

Did ton of nano holders just sold most or everything when it pumped that high?

Raiblocks was distributed using a faucet and many people were involved in claiming it. Raiblocks for a long period of time was exclusively available on it's own exchange. But the price was ever decreasing and the coin was near forgotten when they rejuvenated with new name and aggressive listing on exchanges. Binance was not the first one but that listing provided them a good boost.

I can answer your questions as I was one of the very first users of Raiblocks (Nano)

What i want to know is... when was nano available to buy?  Was it on the first date that is shown on coinmarketcap?
Nano (Raiblocks) was available to buy/sell way before it got listed on coinmarketcap, people traded it here in the forum and in Bitgrail exchange (that got hacked by the way) and if I recall correctly it was less than 1 cents at the very beginning.

Did ton of nano holders just sold most or everything when it pumped that high?
Not all. Most sold early when it pumped from few cents to few $.Only few were able to sell at 30-ish $.Also one thing to note,is that all Raiblocks that is in circulation was given for free using a faucet system, there wasn't any ICO or similar thing. Most faucet claimers sold very early at few cents which explains why the price only sky rocketed after the distribution finished.

Yes i heard of bitgrail.

So did you get raiblocks back then by buying it or from faucet?  So basically ppl got nano for free back then?

Would you say lots of ppl made a ton of money from nano?  I mean it was basically 1 cent... then went up to as high as 37 dollars.  Yes i know very few were able to sell at 30ish... but it was between 10-30 for a good while.  So if someone had 100k nano which would been worth around 1000 usd at the time, wouldn't ppl have sold it at some point since this would been 1 to 3 million dollars?  I mean right now 100k nano is over 100k usd.  Are there any coins that ever compared to nano in the recent years in terms of price increase?  I mean 1 cent to over 30 dollar at one point is ridiculous.

Did tons of ppl get this at 1 cent?  Wow... right now you would be 100x your investment even right now.  I can't believe this coin at one point went to 37 dollars.  That means 1000 dollars worth of nano bought at 1 cent each... would been worth 3.7 million at the all time high.

Is nano probably one of the top 10 coins in terms of price increase ever when you talk about the absolute high when comparing it to when it first came out?  It was basically 1 cent when it came out.

i don't think so.
there has been lots of altcoins that did the same thing with their first massive pump. there are also lots of altcoins that get massive pumps like this every day.
i remember in 2017 there were a new thing where the pumpers started pumping very small coins. coins that had values less than 1 satoshi, in those cases they simply went from low prices such as 0.01 satoshi to something as high as 100 satoshi. and that is nearly a 1 million percent rise.

I'm a part of them who have bougth NANO (that's called RAI in the past) and with a hundred dollars and you can get hundred thousands of RAI and I have bought only 500k RAI and I have sold a half when it reached the peark price when around a few dollars but sadly I have lost the rest of MY rai caused by the data of my wallet already erased.

Coinmarketcap is generally very useful piece, which reflects all the tokens and exchanges, momentum, and garpike,it really brings a lot of benefits, just enough at the right time to see what's going on,or WSS projects monitor so it is possible, even without going to the exchange to see prices and schedules, they are well done of course!

It used to be named something else, raiblocks which I think was the time they reached thirty seven dollars or something with that name.

Ever since they were named nano they never really seen an increase, I have purchased a lot of nano at seven dollars because I believed it had dropped a lot already and wouldn't drop anymore but I was very wrong and went as low as under 1 dollar at one point.

I do not know when it will go back or will it ever go back to those prices but I know that I will sell all of mine at eight dollars to take out my profit.

it drops like that because of its huge circulating supply and mainly it was dropping hard in early days because of their bad distribution plans where they gave away to lots of people for doing small meaningless time wasting jobs.

coins like this with a huge supply don't have a good future of big rises. so all we can see in them is temporary pumps where they go up a little before the sheer amount of sells crashes that pump back down again.

I think at that time it was only a moment's pump to make achievements with prices above $ 30, and in the end NANO continued to decline and almost wasted. Exactly 2 years ago June 2017 the price is only around $ 0.03 and continues to grow until January 2018. Then it continues to fall until now only $ 1.6.

well that is true every day with every single altcoin that ever gets pumped and you don't need only a certain one like NANO, many of them have been pumped to huge percentages at some point before they crash down by the massive scale dumping.
but the problem is that you won't ever become rich thinking like that because at the time you will have no way of knowing whether the price is going up or not before the pump starts and also you will never know how much it will pump when the pump is happening so all you can do is take a % and get out.
